Luis Suarez signs for Barcelona

I think these lads know what they are doing then blame it on translation. Like when they give interviews in their homeland. I understand cultures differ vastly and certainly on this issue, however Suarez is not a kid, hes a well travelled professional and vastly experienced. If hes said something then it was meant to deeply offend, however he will pay the price if caught and is found guilty of the offence. We cant defend him really if hes done it and I just hope its chalked off and we can move on.

I get that part but what does it show about Terry being racist tho? If Terry called him a kunt thats ok? But once the black part enters the fray the coppers get involved and everyone goes :censored:-a-hoop?

That's where I'm struggling mate. I'm not the most PC person in the world I'm just working off principle here. If Anton was fat and Terry called him a fat kunt does that mean Terry hates fat people?

i never understand this argument, if you call someone a black c.unt you are quite clearly using racist language, because u are making reference to there ethnicity in an insulting way

I dunno, maybe I've just never given racism as much focus in my life. If I go out and meet someone, one the first things I'd notice is if someone was black, or if they were from China. That's how people work, appearances.

By saying by phone is being 'gay' because it's not working am I degrading all gay people, don't like them and am likely to offend them?

I just don't understand why racism is put under the microscope that's all. I've never encountered any sort of racism in my life. I've got a few black friends and we take the p!ss out of each other purely based on our appearances sometimes. Not to offend each other, just general banter.

thats a difrrent context though, its not the same when ur having banter with your mates. Im sure you wouldnt go up to a random black person and call them a black 'insert word' its not acceptable.

totally agree but things get said in heated exchanges as well. What if Anton called Terry a crack or a honky or whatever?

I just think the barriers have been made ridiculously wide thats all

In response to the example above as well. What if x's mother actually is a xxxx? Does the position change and become more serious?  :D

we do indeed need some football back. There'd have been no riots if it was mid-season  :D

i couldn't resist having a sneaky peek over at redcafe to see their take on this. unsurprisingly they think suarez is an absolute kunt, quite surprisingly they also think kenny is one, and totally surprisingly they think the FA and the footballing world in general hates man utd and favours liverpool in everything. funny old world.

funny how policies high on the agenda can be blurred because of the club one follows eh  :D

I've read what they're saying, they think if we don't terminate his contract we're condoning racism, absolutely mental

So with John Terry, all the evidence has to piled up first before any formal charge, and yet Luis Suarez is charged straight away?

Oh yeah I forgot, its Man United isn't it?

This racism and for that matter all the other ism,s are getting out of hand, and becoming blatenly one sided. If evra had called suarez a little white dwarf. And he claimed it was racist WOULD charges be brought upon evra? NO CHANCE, and before the PC brigade attack me. Show me one JUST one incident where this has happened

The key word being scapegoat. I can see JT walking away with not a tarnish and Suarez being pinned with the racist tag.
