Although if it was a choice between him or Charlie Adam it's a no-brainer.

I think Charlie Adam is more suited for us

would rather have James Mccarthy fella from Wigan over both of them honestly

Aussie Style wrote:Kenny Dalglish today suggested Alberto Aquilani could have a key role to play at Anfield next season.

The Italian midfielder has excelled while on a season loan to Juventus, but he is due to return to Melwood in the summer for the start of pre-season training.

"When people talk about next season, I'm surprised they don't give Alberto a mention," he said. "Everyone seems to have forgotten about him.

"I know he has done really well at Juventus this season. When the loan finishes at the end of the season, he reverts back to being a Liverpool player.

"Nothing is cast in stone and he could be coming back to play for Liverpool. He could be a valuable asset here next season. He's still our player."

Aquilani arrived at Anfield as a replacement for Xabi Alonso in the summer of 2009, but injury problems restricted his Liverpool career to just 13 starts and 13 substitute appearances before he made the switch to Serie A.

"He certainly didn't have the best of luck last season," Dalglish added.

"At times he did really well and at other times he didn't do quite so well but you can say that about most players. What I do know is that he's had a fantastic season at Juventus."

This proves once and for all that KK knows what hes talking about
:nod

how exactly?

Aqua recently said he wants to stay at Juve, is it wise to keep a player that doesn't want to be here?

They're two separate questions btw

"When people talk about next season, I'm surprised they don't give Alberto a mention,"
"I know he has done really well at Juventus this season. He could be a valuable asset here next season. He's still our player."

Like I said, proof that KK knows his onions...

not really, Kenny's hardly going to say anything else is he?

I mean, Kenny hasn't even worked with him, personally, I think he's putting pressure of suitors to pay up. Either that or he's preparing for the situation where they don't pay up and he has to return. Then Aqua can reflect at what Kenny's said about him and try to settle and work hard.

Nothing to it I reckon, just another example of business and man management
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

well I don't think we'll see him in red again BUT

If he does come back and plays to the potential you believe he has, I will be the first to admit I was wrong  :D

Alberto Aquilani's agent hopes Juventus reach deal with Liverpool over permanent transfer

The Italian midfielder's representative says the player wants to stay in his homeland but excludes all talk regarding a potential move to Serie A league leaders AC Milan  By Salvatore Landolina   6 May 2011

Alberto Aquilani's agent Franco Zavaglia hopes Juventus and Liverpool can reach an agreement over a permanent transfer for the player, reiterating that his client wants to stay in Serie A.

Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta this week suggested the £16 million figure Liverpool were reportedly asking for Aquilani would price them out of the market for the player although Zavaglia still holds out hope that a deal for the 26-year-old can be reached.

"I don’t know when the clubs will meet or discuss the matter," Zavaglia told Calciomercato.it.

"We are certainly waiting to hear how the situation develops and hope they can reach an agreement.

"As far as Alberto is concerned, he has always been clear: he wants to stay in Italy. We are waiting to hear if a deal will be reached and that would be a huge bonus for us."

Regarding talk of a move to AC Milan, Zavaglia added: "No, these are just rumours. Nobody from the Rossoneri has called me."

Hopefully this can be sorted soon, clearly he wont be coming back so we may as well get a decent wedge for him and stick it in the transfer kitty.

Clearly we can't argue that he doesn't want to play for us and clearly signing him in the first place was a huge mistake
