I know Rocky's got a hard on for him but until it looks like Aqualani might actually return can we please just let the Aqualani saga lie.

ye i was gona put a pic of your mrs face on my pillow but ive only got a kingsize pillow so it probably wont fit never mind.

This should make Rocky explode with excitement and make a mess everywhere

Liverpool are considering recalling Alberto Aquilani from his season-long loan to Juventus.

The Italian international has improved his form significantly since gaining regular first team football with the Turin giants, and has even returned to the national team fold.

He has developed a fine partnership with defensive midfielder Felipe Melo at Juve, and practically ran Juventus’ game against Genoa on Sunday with a constant delivery of excellent diagonal passes to the flanks from deep.

When Roy Hodgson let him go to Juventus, he stated that he wanted Aquilani to reach his potential, so he could be the player Liverpool watched before his injury trouble wrecked the beginning of his Anfield career.

“It would certainly be what he needs, it would certainly protect the value of the player and when he does return to Liverpool no doubt we will see the Aquilani that we signed before he came here injured last year,” said the Reds boss at the time.

Although the loan was set for the entire season, with the option for Juventus to buy for around £13m, Liverpool of course retain the option to keep the player – and it looks like they have elected to do so.

Many have felt that Aquilani has been unable to show his potential at Anfield just because he has never been given a proper chance by either Rafa Benitez or Roy Hodgson.

Finally he could be about to do so.

rocky is going to be absolutely creaming himself. i have to admit that i'm quite happy about the idea too (of aquilani returning that is, not the idea of rocky creaming himself)

Great news if true!  Should of never sent him off to be honest.
I just hope he wants to come back and his head is in it if he is called back.

I certainly love to see him come back and fulfil his potential.
Though obviously as JacD stated whether he will be motivated over here is another question

Though obviously if he does succeed , Rocky would have to be banned as we wouldnt be able to get  those stains out

Watched him a few weeks back and he is the star man for Juve. Everything goes through him. He has games under his belt and match fitness (well match fitness in Italy anyway) and would be a welcome addition back into the LFC fold in January.

Apparently he has settled into a deeper role for Juve where he controls play and passes from deep. Just what we need??? ???

If the lad is prepared to come back over here and give it a real go and graft then we should recall him no question as we are very short on numbers. At moment we are having to use young pups to fill positions. Trouble is if Acqua doesnt fancy a return theres little point recalling him because he wont perform to his potential so we may as well leave him there and cash in on the purchase next year.

100% agree.

We have no idea what terms he left on (not the terms of the deal but verbal terms between Roy and his general feelings towards LFC).

He may think that he has moved back to Italy, is playing every week, is a star back home, back in the Italy squad etc and think f*ck that I am not going back to Liverpool to be a bit part player.

Or...as I hope...he is a competitor who wants to better himself, thinks he still has something to prove in England and decides to give it another go.

I also hope he hasn't checked out the weather or we have no hope  ???

I'd bring him back, he's another creative player who we could use if needed, especially with Gerrard being injured.

His impact back in Italy has been good, so even if he comes back and doesn't play a lot of games, we'd probably still get a decent fee for him at the end of the season if we decide to sell.

I maintain that the guy's got talent though.  If he could have an injury free run (which could be the main issue) and get played in his best position he could still make an impact here.

If true, then lets bring him back. He's had a good run of games and his touch is back so we cant lose really. If it doesnt work out again, then his stock wont fall in italy. We probably re-negotiate the terms to sell him.
Gotta bring back if true. Him andRaul with stevie could be very interesting.
