Lucas may not be good enough for a starter if we want to challeng for Europe and the Prem title, but think he's good enough for a backup, better than the rest of our backup midfielders anyway. And yeah, 3 mill is not enough.

I think Lucas is worth a lot more than £3m

£3m?

Lucas definitely worth more then 3.

Being linked with javier pastore now.  Seems like he'll cost too much, tho has impressed for Palermo.

Palermo claim to have already turned down a 50 million euro bid for him, which I highly doubt, but nevertheless he'll cost a lot.

Liverpool are ready to splash out £32 million on Charlie Adam, Ashley Young and Jeffren to help re-shape their midfield this summer, reports caughtoffside.com.

The 25-year-old Adam was on the verge of a move to Kenny Dalglish's side in the January transfer window, but Blackpool decided to keep hold of the winger as they look to retain their Barclays Premier League status.

Young, who stared for England at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday against Wales, has long been linked with a move away from Aston Villa, with Liverpool and Manchester United both linked with the winger.

Barcelona man Jeffren has made just 18 league appearances for the Catalan giants in his five-year career in the first team and is set for a move away from the Nou Camp this summer.

Although yet to be given a permanent deal at Anfield, Liverpool manager Dalglish is set to be given a mammoth transfer kitty this summer to re-build a faltering squad on Merseyside.

Liverpool are far from guaranteed a spot in next season's Europa League after crashing out of the competition at the hands of Braga and after enduring a poor season in the Barclays Premier League.

Dalglish has already spent £58 million on Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez in January and is expected to be allowed more license in the next transfer window.

Id be happy with the first two but not sure about Jeffren, he looks a tidy little player on the very rare times ive seen him play and would be an improvement on what weve got simple because we havent got anyone. Personally id go for someone else

Also weve been linked with a swap deal between Aquiliani and Santon, i think that would be a great deal as Santon fits into what the owners want and hes very versatile and italian which (afew Dossenas aside) is always a good thing when looking for a defender. Only thing is going off most quotes about the players values then wouldnt we get some cheddar back from the deal? Wouldnt keep me up at night if we didnt mind.

Pastore is an awesome player and would be one of the few players that could take over from Gerrard when hes finished, but at this moment in time i think if we can afford 1 or 2 big money transfers in the summer then they have to be on the wings, like Sanchez and Young

Jeffren, I'm not sure what to make of him, haven't seen a lot of him but he's never partiularly stood out when I have. Though in the side he;s in it would be difficult to stand out :D

Not too many goals for Jeffren and he plays striker or attacking winger, so I don't know.  Besides, then we'd have 2 Suarez's on the team and that could get confusing :D

Honestly, Young and Adam would be 2 great signings.  Santon for Aqua would be decent too, tho I really like both Kelly and Johnson on the outsides, so I'm not entirely sure about a left back.  I know we need one but I feel either Johnson or Kelly won't be used as well as they can be.

After watching the England game today.. I would love to pluck a few from there.

Cahill, Young and Baines. We'd of had 3 starters in the back, 2 in the middle if Stevie were playing and one up top :D Half the England squad playing together wouldn't be bad, those these guys obviously won't start all the time.

I thought Baines did a lot down the left, really thought he was valuable.  Cahill had a great game today.  Jagielka was the worst player on the pitch, so Cahill had to deal with all his garbage too.  Not to mention Barry and Wilshire moving the ball backwards always put Cahill under pressure, but he looked like the best player on the pitch to be honest.  Young did great with everything except finishing. :D

I'd be happy if we just bought these 3.  Throw in Adam, and you had me at hello.  :)

Skysports.com understands Liverpool are lining up a summer swoop for England new boy and Wolves winger Matt Jarvis.

Jarvis, who was rewarded for his fine form this season with his first cap for England in the midweek draw with Ghana, is thought to be on Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish's wanted list.

Dalglish is keen to bring in some much-needed width to the squad next season and he sees Jarvis as the man who could provide the ammunition for the new-look strikeforce of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez.

A number of other Premier League clubs are thought to be tracking Jarvis ahead of this summer's transfer window, but Liverpool are hoping to steal a march on their rivals as they weigh up a move for the former Gillingham man.

The 24-year-old would fit Liverpool's idea of bringing in young emerging players for the future and Dalglish is understood to be keen to add a British element to his squad for next season.

Wolves would be loathe to lose Jarvis, but they could face a battle to keep hold of the pacy winger if they fail to secure their Premier League status.
