I mean holy sh!t...  He's tied second in assists with Rooney and Arshavin, only 2 behind nani..

Baines sends in great crosses and adds so much width to the Everton attack, he's an incredible player..  Imagine having talented wingers on both sides in Jarvis and Young sending balls in and actually creating things, then Kelly and Baines behind them with the ability to do the same thing.

We would score a whole lot of goals, and don't say Baines is bad defensively because he's not.  He's probably been Everton's most solid defensive player this year.

What's wrong with Baines and Jarvis?  Jarvis has sent the second most crosses into box this year in the prem, which is what we need having Carroll in the squad.  Top 10 in key passes as well, and considering he plays for fecking wolves... It takes a lot more effort to get those kind of stats.  4 goals and 4 assists for a winger is not bad at all.. I wish we had a winger like that.

And what's wrong with Baines?  Baines is solid defensively and is good at getting up and creating things.  He's got 2 goals and 11 ASSISTS
I don't know about you but 11 assists from a solid LB is incredible.

And I'm not the one who has came up with these names... Many people on these forums have mentioned signing these boys, that's why I stuck them in here.

agree with you. would love to see those 2 players here as well.

Jarvis would cost more than you guys think. Just saw that he has a contract untill 2015, he's young, talented and English, one of the few good players Wolves have. He's an OK player but I wouldnt spend more than 10 mill on him.

Out of Cahill and Dann, mine and probably most fans favourite would be Cahill, but he's far more expensive as well. I'd still go for him though, he's a great defender and we really need strong and stabil defenders at the momment.

Agree.  He would be expensive but we'd have him for quite a while.

The thing is, all these defenders we are looking at have a very similar ratio... They score about 1 in 10 games. Now I'm not saying we base anything off of that, but if you have a few defenders who can score 1 in 10 games, it usually means they are good in the air, and having defenders who are good in the air is great.  Set pieces with a few scoring defenders and Carroll... We would be the most dangerous set piece team in the league, bar none.

I'd be thrilled if that was our starting 11 next season.... Especially considering we'd finally have some depth.  CB's Skrtel and Carra, CM's Meireles and Lucas, our RM and LM can be played by Gerrard or Lucas tho if needed.  Don't really have back up strikers, but we can always play Gerrard in as a second striker if we need too.

Seriously, if we can get that team together with a good amount of time before league starts, I see us as title contenders.

I'd take Mexes and Taiwo on bosmans for sure... both quality players for problematic positions for us...
As for wide players, Ashley Young seems a decent player, not too sure about Jarvis really.. If we really want to build a side that challenges for the title sometime soon then i feel we need a big name signing who can come in and provide the goals or assists consistently from a wide position,, not sure Young and Jarvis provide enough of that.. I'd prefer someone like Marko Marin, Jesus Navas, Juan Mata..etc
Will probably be harder to bring in but its more the type of player we need to add to the side

Ashley Young provides just that mate, 56 assists in the last 5 seasons along with 40 goals.

Dalglish is looking to recruit British footballers as his first choices to try and get back that team spirit that you can lose when you have recruit too many foreign players. We have also been burned big time on overseas imports. Its a change in direction, buying players from our own culture who are doing a good job in this league week in week out. It makes sense, and thats how clubs operate and do business outside the Premier League. It may seem old fashioned and perhaps short sighted but you know what your getting and what these boys can do in our division. We also have the new rules to consider. I think they pursue home based first and only look overseas if its someone very special or a deal breaks down, last resort.

With what appears to be widespread dismay at villa these days i really think Young is a priority.

He has everything we need, pace, creativity, ability tonplay on both wings. We will probably have to pay over the odds for him (being english) but the sale of some of our dead wood can offset this.

If we finished the summer with Young, Adam and Baines i would consider it our best summer for a long time

Leighton Barnes is a lifelong Liverpool supporter as well so may be interested in a move to a BIG club
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

Our priority for this summer should definitely be an Ashley Young type of player, a Charlie Adam and a solid CB (Cahill for example). We probably need a LB as well but I'm not too sure about this, becouse we'll have to drop either Kelly or Johnson and I dont want to drop either of them.

Liverpool and Atletico Madrid have registered their interest in Rubin Kazan full-back Cristian Ansaldi, according to the player's agent.

Ansaldi, 24, has been linked with a number of top clubs around Europe after some impressive showings in Russia, and he made his debut for Argentina in 2009.

However, agent Pedro Aldave claims Ansaldi - capable of playing at right-back and left-back - is seeking a move to the Premier League, Serie A or La Liga as he believes it would boost his chances of becoming a regular for his country.

He told calciomercatoweb.it: "There has been some informal market interest from Liverpool and Atletico Madrid.

"I think he pays for the fact he plays in Russia, otherwise he would be in the national team. His contract with Rubin Kazan expires in December 2012 and he has no buy-out clause.

"Cristian wants to go away. He would love to play in England, Italy or Spain."

He added: "Last summer there was a deal with Manchester City and also some contact with Chelsea, but it all stopped because of a work permit. Now he has Italian citizenship and this could make things easier."

Per Merstesacker has said he wants to come to the prem this summer.  What a signing that would be... I'd be thrilled if we could sign him.  All year I've been messing with my Bremen fan friend telling him we are gonna take Mertesacker and Marin.  Would be great if we actually could.  I don't think we'll get Mexes.  He's 28 and only has a couple seasons left, so probably wants champions league for the rest of his career. So unless we nick that last spot somehow, I think he's going elsewhere.

I would prefer Mata, Marin or Navas too, but we have to look more realistically. You don't automatically get the players you go after.  And yes, Ashley Young is exactly the player we need.

Leighton Baines being a lifelong Liverpool supporter could really help.  we say we want him and he's probably going to come.
