Liverpool are set to raid the Bundesliga in search of Roy Hodgson's successor.

Unconfirmed reports from Germany claim that Fenway Sports Group, the club's American owners, have earmarked Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp and recently out-of-work Ralf Rangnick as potential replacements to bring Hodgson's faltering Anfield reign to an end.

Rangnick appears to be the outstanding candidate, having recently resigned from Hoffenheim after Luis Gustavo was sold to Bayern Munich without his consent whilst his methods and penchant for youth development fits FSG's blueprint for the Reds' long-term future.

So determined to end Hodgson's dismal six-month spell that John Henry and Tom Werner, Liverpool's key stakeholders, are understood to have considered drafting in a caretaker until the end of the season which may allow Kenny Dalglish to tend to unfinished business.

Jurgen Klopp is a great manager, look at what he did with Borusia Dortmund with almost no tranfer funds, but as the article says he probably won't want to leave Dortmund.

No problem with a German manager, Im pro german so suits me but are these guys any more qualified than a fella like Holloway? Miracles and great football on zero funds and all. Huge gamble either way and would be surprised yet strangely excited by the random nature of the appointment. All new managers are a huge leap of faith but something like this would be complete shot in the dark no question.

Might have guessed what I wrote was going to kick some drama queen off. Couldn't give a bollox. Like I said - and again I'll make no apology for it - anyone trying to defend Hodgson at this stage can get to f*ck along with the man himself. He's making a bollox of this club and taking the supporters for clueless muppets. Defend that? Respect that? Never.

What's that, Sir Alex? Liverpool boss Hodgson looks like he can count on old friend Ferguson for support

Well, I suppose if you're under pressure as a top flight manager you could do worse than calling on the top man for support.
Whether Liverpool fans will see it that way might be another matter entirely.
It's fair to say that for Liverpool supporters the sight of Sir Alex Ferguson cleaning up all the big prizes for Manchester United over the years has become an agonising sight.

And it could be that the old pals act between messrs Ferguson and Hodgson, who go back a long way, is a little too much too stomach.
Both men were in attendance at the DW Stadium on Sunday for Wigan's clash with Newcastle. And they had both had reason to smile too.

The Liverpool manager saw Joe Cole grab a late winner to see off Bolton on Saturday, and ease a little of the pressure after that dreadful midweek defeat against Wolves.
Ferguson meanwhile saw his men benefit from more than a bit of fortune to beat West Bromwich Albion and stay on top of the Premier League going into the second half of the season.
Just one question: I wonder what they were talking about?

To be honest whiskey nose has always been good friends with all our managers who were unsuccesfull apart from you know who becauase he was succesfull and was the only manager to stand up against him
