ROY HODGSON - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

.
Well, there we have it.

That performance has finally done it for me, although i think we all knew that roy was a stop-gap manager, its now time to cut our losses and get rid.

I still can't argue with his appointment in the summer (turmoil, manager of the year, steady old head) but he has obviously failed to inspire the players and fans.

I'm looking for a complete change in football philosophy as our last three managers have been, shall we say "pragmatic" in their opproach to trying to get back to our 'bread and butter'

With the transfer window about to open, a new head coach could have some say in any tranfer targets

I may be changing my name to rijkaardsreds sooner rather than later. Which would not be a bad thing imo

As for this whole 'bring benitez back' thing, please stop it, its getting quite embarrassing now .

been many year since i have been up to liverpool during xmas and i still love the place but

i was shocked by some of the views in the kop. yes most of them understood and said that Roy had been left with a vry poor team and he needs time and money to put the club right.

there was almost a fight in the kop when 4 fans started to call for Rafa to come back, six other fans tried to get them to shut up, the the name king k started.

it did not last long as other fans started to shout out to them to back the team and started to sing our old songs, but it did not last, the kop was in a very bad mood, my mate i was with just lives outside the ground and said the kop has been like this all year.

i would say that some are using the poor team that Roy has as a chance to try and get Rafa back....in fact i know that to be true as a few of them said so, others feel that Kenny should be back.......but some of them are only calling for him to get roy out in hope of getting Rafa back

in all it seemed like this in the kop

20% backing Rafa
15% kenny
65% backing the manager and team

and another point i will make.....Torres, 16 times he had the ball and lost it 14 times!!!!

a lot of the kop wished he would be taken off but again did not use their voice.

the pro Rafa are almost like thugs on the Kop and its not very nice

sorry if you dont like this post but it was i see and heard, and its very sad.

back the team and manager, we will get new money and chance to buils a new team.
the said point is that the 70% that are backing the team and manager are not using their voice on the Kop.

Little bit of poetic licence there methinks. The author of the piece has been a tad overdramatic once again . Where were you sitting lakes ?

I don't want this man to get anyway near our money.
Enough, he has blundered through the first transfer window, he has bundled through trainings, PR, PC and game tactics.
What are the chances he will bundle in this transfer window? If anything, the man doesn't deserve it.
Let Commolli do the wheeling and dealing, if any, install a new coach and we move on from there.

There is no future with Mr. Hodgson on the helm. Get rid.

In all seriousness though Hodgson has to go now, the team played with no tactics yesterday, it was absolute fecking garbage. It was so bad that I ended up arguing with my brother over whom of us thought we were the most sh!te and hated Woy the most.  :D

more like backing the team and manager mate.

got to say i have the flu so i was not in the best of moods anyway and was looking for a lift, from kick off it was very clear they were going man for man marking and we found it very hard to deal with.

yellsub66 wrote:Dear Thommo's Perm. The reason this forum is becoming so divided is because certain posters are aiming personal insults at each other over what is rapidly becoming a desperate situation for the club. Yes we have new owners and we now have virtually no debt...yet the club appears to be in meltdown on the pitch!

Hodgson is CLEARLY out of his depth and has been ever since he arrived. The players must also shoulder some of the blame for the dreadful performances, but at the end of the day the buck stops with the MANAGER!!

It is wrong of you to suggest he has never been given a chance by Liverpool fans. It is also totally incorrect of you to suggest that ANY true Liverpool would want to see the club relegated...that's just unbelievable.

As a club we are now a total and utter laughing stock! We have lost eight games already in Premiership and have a negative goal difference. Even during Benitez' final season things never got as desperate as they are now.

Hodgson is a completely MEDIOCRE manager who was never the correct choice for Liverpool. He was appointed by idiots and is a stagnant remnant from the dire Texan regime.

I am 100% certain that Hodgson would have been sacked by any other club in the Premiership for the run of results since he took over at Liverpool, let alone the supposed top four clubs!! It is not just the results either. The man inspires no confidence and has the down beaten demeanour of a tramp. His bumbling and negative press conferences/interviews have also been laced with bile and spite, often directed at the players and the fanbase.

The man is conceited, arrogant and appears to have no self awareness. If he had any ounce of decency then he would resign immediately and admit to his fawning admirers in the UK media that he is not fit to manage a top club. What he achieved with Fulham in the Europa was a complete fluke...and let's not forget...he didn't even win the thing!!

As much as it pain's me to admit it, I just cannot imagine the Mancs tolerating such total mediocrity! I cannot imagine the Utd players playing with so little passion and belief for such an extended period. Can anyone on here imagine old whiskey nose tolerating such performances for so long?

All top teams can struggle as we have seen this season (witness Chelsea) yet something very negative appears to have gripped our club? If it is total apathy and resignation amongst the playing squad then Hodgson is NOT the man to give them a rocket up the backside.

A new man needs to come in immediately and if NESV do not act before the next match, then I fear a backlash from the fans against the new owners. I am a knowledgable fan and have supported our club for over 35 years. I cannot remember a worse period 'on the field' and a time when I was so embarrassed by a manager or indeed the performances. In Rafa's last season he struggled and the team struggled..yet he was under immense pressure, especially from the disgusting regime he was forced to work under. Hodgson has been working for several months under supportive new owners yet still he serves up football that is dire!!

Can any poster on here honestly remember a time with our club when it looked like we would never win a game?

That time is with us now.

If NESV don't act..we will be relegation fodder!

DO THE RIGHT THING!!

Is right Yellow sub

GET OUT OF OUR CLUB TODAY ROY !!!!

Ok i'm also in cut him now.

I wasn't Roy biggest fan but wanted to give him a chance till the end of the year at least ,but no more. Yes he did come into a situation where the team was amidst a control battle ,where most of the squad wasn't his, a lot of terbulance for a new manager to handle. But and this is a big But we asked him to manage ,not to win titles ,not to turn us to superior club ,but to manage...At this point i can say he failed miserably ,he just demonstarate week in and out that he is totaly out of his depth. His signnings ,his tactics ,his philosophy ,even his interviews ,that's not good enough. He must leave better sooner then later.

I would say that he leaving is not enough for me, the club must cut and release immidiatly 5-6 players which have been dragging us for years now and offer no future prospect. We need major restructering and it must start now.

More likely just obvious media conjecture but you never know:

'Liverpool Set to Sack Roy Hodgson and Turn to Frank Rijkaard Within Days

Liverpool are set to be sack Roy Hodgson and replace him with Dutchman Frank Rijkaard after the current Anfield boss was left bemoaning yet another limp display as his side lost to a struggling Wolves side at home. The club’s are ready to axe the 63 year old former Fulham boss and will do so within the next 48 hours.

Hodgson’s cause will not have been helped by his slamming of Liverpool supporters after last night’s game and owners New England Sporting Ventures will act fast to prevent the club from slipping further into the mire. The Merseyside club are now just three points from the relegation zone having lost an unprecedented eight matches out of their opening 18 fixtures.

Bookmakers William Hill have cut their odds on Frank Rijkaard becoming the next permanent boss to just 8/15 and Liverpool owner John W Henry will know that handing January transfer funds to embattled boss Hodgson makes little sense if he is then removed from his post shortly after so therefore the club will look to swing the axe in the very near future.

With the games coming thick and fast during the busy holiday period, with games against Bolton and Blackburn on the 1st and 5th of January respectively, the board at Liverpool will decide whether to wait until after those fixtures are completed or look to act in the next 48 hours. Their main fear being that having no one at the helm for the crucial upcoming games could be even more damaging than sticking with Hodgson.

Therefore it appears that the club is in deep deliberation as to whether tp wait until those two games have been played and then act to replace the former Fulham manager with former Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard who is on the look out for a new post having been sacked by Galatasaray earlier in the season, or instead axe Roy Hodgson within the next 48 hours, which currently appears to be the more likely scenario.'

Rafa isnt coming back and thats a fact, Roy is sinking the good ole ship of LFC and needs shipping out before he does further damage and we are ruined forever.

Frank Rijkaard

yes we have all heard talk about him but lets look at the fact, he has only done well when the team has already been built or he is given tones of money to use to build a team.

lets not for get the guy has also been sacked twice and got a team relegated.

he is hit or miss as a manager

Going off them prices that means Lucas is 5 times the player Poulsen is. Sad thing is its true.

Got to be honest I wouldn't be that eager to offload Lucas yet, he's a good squad player and I certainly don't think he was our worst player last night (not saying much I know).

Lakes you know i am pro Rafa, i am no thiug and neither are most of thelads on the kop who backed him,  What you dont seem to understand is because we want him gone doesnt mean we want Rafa back, Myself yes i have stated id have him back but thats me, how the hell can you say 65 per cent of them in the ground backed the manager last night ,did you go to our game, im sure your on a pi,ss take with that post  you gotta be , i go week in week out and away games and stand sometimes with one of the lads from 306 who would have walked and carried Rafa back,on his shoulders but its not about him anymore its about ,the other fella but some just cant see it and think because we want him gone we want Rafa back, not the case,
I said in an earlier post this fella is gonna cause murders soon and i stand by that,

Bens post regarding tactics and the swapping of Meiles for Cole and the positon he took up mindblowing, Ngog sub mindblowing , WHY WHY , PERFECT footballing centre half on the bench WHY, Aurelio on the bench , Why

no Roy in sinking on a ship that was holed by Rafa, but Rafa ship was already very old and about to sink at anytime.

yea can see your point hes actually not the worst, but i still think the money would be more valuble to us than he is, but sayin that keep him until the end of the season, he may be good as part of a swap deal for someone.
