Where did you hear that Nanny? Or are you simply making your own personal preference known?
I would think that with the French connection that Didier Deschamps is a more likely candidate though.

Um, wouldn't that make Carlo Ancelloti available?

I always thought Ancelotti was a great manager.
But chelsea are dogsh'it at the moment and he has took a league winning side and turned them into also rans. I doubt if he will be there next season. How the mighty fall...

Ancelotti is a great manager. Football just seems to be the problem these days mate.
I won't harp on about Rafa's time at Liverpool, but the guy won 2 trophies at Inter in a couple of months, had them qualified for CL last 16 and yes they were struggling in the league but had a lot of injuries. He never had a chance to turn it around. Some people still don't rate him as a manager despite winning all the trophies he did with Valencia and Liverpool.
Ancelloti won the double and charity shield with Chelsea in his first season, as soon as they're going through a bad patch, the chelsea fans want him out. He's probably the most successful manager in the CL over the last 8 years.
What makes a good manager these days? i dont know anymore, but there is little room for failure.
