There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

If you want to start comparing new managers performances going into the club against their predecessors, lets talk about Inter and Rafa compared with Jose

What exactly points to us showing that we might go forwards ?
Is Hodgson the man to take us forward - yes or no .
Maureen did a better job at Inter than Rafa - end of discussion on that part .

I get warned for SPAM (still dont know why) and you just waffle on and on and on.
I will give you an answer to your question: " Is Hodgson the man to take us forward?"
The honest answer is-we dont know. It is not yes or no. It is "dont know" None of us do. What do you mean by taking us forward? Does finishing 6th mean taking us forward? Does that buy him the time that some have never given him from his first days as manager? Or does he have to win a trophy? You go on about improvement on the last manager but your statement is loaded because he wont win the champions league in his first season will he?
You constantly make the point of us being worse than last season. Totally disregarding that it is because of last season that we were as bad as we were at the begining of this season. It is continuation of the legacy of last season and we were always going to be sh'ite no matter who took over. Thats how bad we were. The new manager has had to change the mentality, mind set and attitude of the squad and has had a difficult time doing it. Some of us knew he had a mountain to climb and the mentality and disrespect of some of our fans has had the desired effect on his tenure. He has made mistakes. Many of them. Some of the players he has bought have not been good enough. He has put his foot in his mouth so often its a wonder he can get a word out. But its understandable seeing as the job he has taken on is so massive with such high and unreasonable expectations. Out of his mind rather than the laughable out of his depth
I am not a "Roy lover". But I accept that he will be here until the end of the season. I guarantee he will be given money to spend in January. And if he makes top 6, does well in the FA cup and gets to the last 8 of the europa, he will be here next season as well
Is that a good enough answer...?

You see you can do it. You wrote a full post without even mentioning the 'R' word. Well done keep it up.

Well 6th is an improvement on last season its not enough for me - you change manager for more than an improvement of just one place . 6th wouldnt be good enough for any manager . For me to been the right choice he would have to get us back into 4th place as a minimum . A trophy would be nice but not essential and i dont see us winning one anyway .
You constantly make the point of us being worse than last season. Totally disregarding that it is because of last season that we were as bad as we were at the begining of this season. It is continuation of the legacy of last season and we were always going to be sh'ite no matter who took over.
I was under the impression that the previous manager was the reason why we were bad last season and all we needed was a manager to come in and we would suddenly be back up there - has that changed now and it is also a squad problem - that isnt what people were saying last season .
The new manager has had to change the mentality, mind set and attitude of the squad and has had a difficult time doing it.
Well we seem to now have a mid table mentality which has come from the manager so he has changed the mentality to his own . Winning away and trying not to lose away .

Some of us knew he would be out of his depth when he was considered for the job and as we can see by watching each game the evidence is overwhelming . We have seen when we played Chelsea we have the player ability yet the set ups and tactics nullify it - especially away from home .
I guarantee he will be given money to spend in January. And if he makes top 6, does well in the FA cup and gets to the last 8 of the europa, he will be here next season as well
Well going by what the owners have said there wont be mouch money spent in Jan and im glad going by his purchases so far - i dont trust him with the money - especially when he is supposedly looking at players like Carlton Cole . If he makes top 6 it isnt good enough and should be let go - would you be happy with top 6 ? Will players like Torres and Pepe be happy with top 6 and Europa again .

Even if he finished 5th this season he isn't good enough to manage us. We want someone to take us forwards not backwards.

Half this forum thought so last season, and imo our squad is a lot better than what we have seen this season and the last.

So, lets break YOUR post down in parts then I can address each one
"Well 6th is an improvement on last season its not enough for me - you change manager for more than an improvement of just one place . 6th wouldnt be good enough for any manager . So 6th is an improvement? Good. You have high expectations and unrealistic ones at that but I am glad you feel that he doesnt have to win the league as a minimum
"I was under the impression that the previous manager was the reason why we were bad last season and all we needed was a manager to come in and we would suddenly be back up there - has that changed now and it is also a squad problem - that isnt what people were saying last season."
Which Fu*king idiot have you been listening to? "suddenly we would be back up there" Really? I thought you watched us regularly. You obviously expected a miracle worker with a magic wand mate.
"Well we seem to now have a mid table mentality which has come from the manager so he has changed the mentality to his own . Winning away and trying not to lose away."
So if we move up the table we will have a "move up the table" mentality. And if we finish in the top 6 we will have a "top 6 mentality" Ah. Now I get it. Where you are in the table dictates your mentality...
"Some of us knew he would be out of his depth when he was considered for the job and as we can see by watching each game the evidence is overwhelming . We have seen when we played Chelsea we have the player ability yet the set ups and tactics nullify it - especially away from home."
There you go with your sweeping statements again "the evidence is overwhelming" Says you. The other evidence is that he has taken a squad in desperate decline and rock bottom confidence and virtually no self-belief, and tried to turn them into a team which tries to compete. e are now in the knockout stages of a europen cup and in he top half of the table. How is that out of his depth?
"Well going by what the owners have said there wont be mouch money spent in Jan and im glad going by his purchases so far - i dont trust him with the money - especially when he is supposedly looking at players like Carlton Cole . If he makes top 6 it isnt good enough and should be let go - would you be happy with top 6 ? Will players like Torres and Pepe be happy with top 6 and Europa again"
I have already said Konchesky is sh'ite and Poulson looks dodgy. But they are panic buys, so hopefully he will get it right in January and buy someone in the calibre of Mierelles. I would be happy with top 6, but happier with top four and ecsatic if we won the league. If Hodgson makes top 6 he will stay because I believe the owners will be realistic enough to see that it is an improvement. How Torres and Pepe will react, I have no idea. But if they dont want to be here next season, sell them.

Ok lets break it down again
So 6th is an improvement? Good. You have high expectations and unrealistic ones at that but I am glad you feel that he doesnt have to win the league as a minimum
I think with the first 11 we have we hve the ability to get into the top 4 - we have shown it against chelsea so i dont think its high expectations its a manager holding us back
Which Fu*king idiot have you been listening to? "suddenly we would be back up there" Really? I thought you watched us regularly. You obviously expected a miracle worker with a magic wand mate.
You only have to read through the various threads on here from last season to see the "f.ucking idiots" who stated it was all down to the previous manager
So if we move up the table we will have a "move up the table" mentality. And if we finish in the top 6 we will have a "top 6 mentality" Ah. Now I get it. Where you are in the table dictates your mentality...
The mentality comes from the set up and tactics employed by the manager - they are currently the set up and tactics you see from a mid table team - sit deep and park the bus away from home to try and not lose
Desperate decline ?! seriously ? Look at the set up and tactics we play and that is where the negativty stems from - who employs those tactics and set up
I have already said Konchesky is sh'ite and Poulson looks dodgy. But they are panic buys, so hopefully he will get it right in January and buy someone in the calibre of Mierelles. I would be happy with top 6, but happier with top four and ecsatic if we won the league. Panic buys ? they were bought not long after he arrived and well before the window closed - nothing panic about them .
You would be happy with 6th ? one place above where we finished last season - has our standards dropped that low now . I hope someone has told our owners that 6th isnt good enough .
