You could also have asked why so many make such an almighty show of themselves in defending the current manager and criticizing the former manager. Its not really about football anymore, but imo it seems to have calmed down a bit after Bigmick got banned.

Hopefully we get a fresh start next season with the new manager.

BigMick was one fo the most sensible posters on here and in my opinion mostly presented facts under constant abuse which seldom got punished. I for one miss him.

Anyway I certainly hope Hodgson gets the boot soon but at least we are a bit better than we were at the start of the season.

As for Rafa I think he is demonstrating how avaergae a manager he is at Inter, there is no excuse for how badly they are doing, he can't blame it on the onwers, can't blame it on lack of funds, the buck finally stops at him.

Ok still going by the previous managers first season - we were ever as low as we currently are ?

He was also a new manager in a new league - he hadnt been managing in the prem at any stage so he didnt know what to expect - he also had a very impressive cv and track record - the total opposite to Hodgson , many had witnessed first hand what his Valencia team did to us and many had witness Hodgsons Fulham at our place ( the same as we currently play away from home ) .

As for respect ? have i ever disrespected him ? i cant talk for others - that is up to them how they act .

People formed their judgement on Hodgson on his previous 35 years of management - whether that is right or wrong that is all we can judge on and everything people were worried about is happening . People were right to give Rafa time and he rewarded us - will Hodgson do the same - IMO he wont . Everything he says and does just points to mid table - his attitude ,his mentality all points to mid table . We are not and havent been a mid table team for nearly 50 years .

The question should be

Is Hodgson a good enough manager and will he takes us forward - for me the answer is no and because of that we should look to replace him - harsh i know but for me its the reality .

He will get the season i think - i dont want him too . I want the owners to go all out and get either Loew,Van Gaal or Hiddink - all proven top class managers or go the other way and bring in a new up coming manager and let him build from scratch - like Coyle for example .

7th last season was not that far from mid table Benny, very close.

It was close mate but what does it say when the previous managers worst is still better than the current managers best so far and not looking likely to get better .

but this is not far into a new job.
We were going rapidly backwards, we have not gone back fwds under Roy...YET.
If you want to start comparing new managers performances going into the club against their predecessors, lets talk about Inter and Rafa compared with Jose  :;):

What exactly points to us showing that we might go forwards ?

Is Hodgson the man to take us forward - yes or no .

Maureen did a better job at Inter than Rafa - end of discussion on that part .

right i am not saying anything so far has pointed towards us going forward.
I have been disappointed with Roy so far, but i am still delighted that Rafa is not here.
What bugs me most is the people who are (probably rightly) criticising Roy STILL stick up for Rafa.
Its bizarre, and with every day looks stupider and stupider when we watch Inter sink lower and lower.

nearly 6000 posts in only 12 months with the same wind up conjecture, my guess? your probably in a wheelchair. I cant even keep you on ignore because for some strange reason you dissapear from my list of ignored posters virtually every week, very strange.

Im trying to just give my opinion on Hodgson mate but some people seem intent on bringing up Rafas mistakes (yes he made them) as some defence for Hodgson . Its like because Rafa made mistakes its fine for Hodgson to be not good enough .

Previous manager made mistakes and got critisized for it - Hodgson should not be free from critisicm

What exactly does that have to do with the thread .

point being you still wanted to give the previous manager more time but have give this one none.

Point being the previous earned the right to have more time - there is nothing I have seen so far that tells me Hodgson deserves more time and will get us back into the CL which is the minimum IMO . I'm sorry but I will never think Hodgson will ever be a good manager for our team or a team with top 4 ambitions the minimum requirement . His 35 years of management tell me that and it's been fully backed up with his performances , attitude , mentality , signings and press statements for us .

Why Is Rafa being compared to Hodgson?

There is no comparison what so ever see both CVs for details.............

Roy won his last trophy in the 80's it is nearly 2011 his away record at every single club is abismal.

Comparing Rafas worst season to Roys is pathetic shall we compare Roys worst record at Blackburn no because thats in the past just like Rafas is.

This is the present and as it stands the manager is drowning and taking us down with him, when you sack a manager it is for a better one and quite frankly Roy isnt and never will be.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

I dont want to talk about Rafa, this is the Roy topic its other people that keep bringing him up then say stop mentioning him yourself for instance :nod

My only concern is LFC and us climbing up that premier league table and not being on minus goal difference with the likes of Bolton, Sunderland, and Newcastle ahead of us.  :no

Roy said yesterday, "The only team with better results than us over the past five or six games is Arsenal or Manchester United. If you take the last five or six games we are right up there in terms of results."

But the premier league form table says otherwise.

1. Manchester United
2. Manchester City
3. Spurs
4. Arsenal
5. Bolton
6. Stoke
7. Blackpool
8. Sunderland
9. Blackburn
10. West Brom
11. Liverpool

Away form table:

17th    Liverpool

We have better players than Stoke, Bolton, Sunderland, Blackburn & West brom yet we sit 11th in the form table.

Discuss !!!!
