whenebver we win one of the muskateers drags up some old quote to make them anager look stupid again... its getting boring now.

Yesterday was a great win. Roy set up his team perfectly, and finally we have amanager playing Babel in the right position... Lets enjoy another 3 points for the day eh?

Lets not go overboard  eh

It was a good win against the worst side seen at Anfield .

We sat back in the second half when we should of gone for blood and got the crowd jumping with more goals but it was flat - very flat - far from perfect and far from great .

It was 3 points but we need to play a lot better next week

Currently we are playing like a mid table team - winning home games - losing away games - so while im happy for 3 points yesterday its far from perfect or great .

Not sure exactly what the babel comment is about as the guy has done feck all so far .

We won the game in the 1st half and took the foot off the pedal... we did what we needed to do from the get go. We pushed early, played wide, did everything right to win the game easily in the first 45.

We might be playing mid table football, so are about 18 other teams.

Would just be nice, just for once, for some on here to say

'well done Roy, moer of the same. Then leave it at that. No need to dredge up old quotes to undermine him

I dont want more of the same dawson - i want better - i dont want us to be sitting deep -i want us to play like we did in the first 45 mins for the second half of the game , i want the players to gain confidence from a good old thrashing , i want the fans to walk away and feel they were entertained and in great mood and confidence after putting a team to the sword - the second half was so flat , no atmopshere , fans want away a bit underwhelmed - happy with the result but wanting a better overall performance and not just one half . We will get beat if we play like that next week .

p.s. i have dragged up anything to undermine anyone .

well im happy with winning the game, then using some subs, no injuries, a good solid win, good play by 'fringe players'

some are never happy though. if wed pushed on, scored another 3 then got Torres or Meireles injured we would hav moaned saying wed won the game, should have made sure no injuries

No one has said they arent happy about winning . So please Dawson stop making stuff that isnt there - some people wanted more and some people arent going over the top after playing the worst team in the prem .

so, the manager made more bad desicions yesterday? Because we're in the Roy thread? I personally think he did it all right. Did what he needed to do as manager. Win the game well, have no injuries, get some players on the pitch and some off it all fresh for next week. what should he have done different?

Not got em sitting so deep in the second half - step them up 10 yards -  thats all it took , to add a bit more pressure on to them and them to go for blood a bit - those are the chances we need to take and be ruthless . At times it looked like we were playing with 3 cbs with poulsen so deep at times . Everyone i spoke to as i walked out felt the same - a great chance to really gain some confidence with a good old thrashing which we didnt take . So while i am happy with the result i was a bit disappointed with the second half .

Why should we praise such a flat performance? I think many fans would agree with you that three goals is far from perfect and we should demand perfection every single minute of every single game.
Its only right that we should not be going overboard for such a timid win. We need better performance and more goals in every match and I would go so far as to say that if we dont win the next five games by at least five goals then Roy must do the honourable thing and resign.
We want greatness and perfection and must not rest until we get it!

What's the point in this post? Benny the noon is obviously wanting us to stop being flat in matches - what's wrong with that? I can't think of a single game this season where we've looked dangerous for 90 minutes, and I would also have liked to see us hammer the hammers (no pun intended!). How else are we going to get our confidence back? That second half will have done nothing for us at all.
That said, it was a win and a clean sheet, so obviously I'm happy with that and long may it continue, but as someone's already said - we will get beaten quite a lot playing like that every week.

The point of my post is the same as your post. To get my point across.
When someone states after a 3-0 win that it was "far from perfect and far from great" then I would say theyre taking the shine off one of our best performances and results since Hodsons been here.
He will not gain praise from such people and it pi'sses some of us off that even after such an emphatic win there are those who would talk about perfection and greatness so as to try and convince us it wasnt a great win.
Does that answer your question?

With the way the teams in the league are dropping points and I still have a slim hope of us getting back to top four this season. It was out of the question at the early going but the impossible had happened that the likes of the usual top teams had not performed as well. Just wondering why we can't play like the first half in away games.... Anyway, Roy is not my choice of manager but as long as the team can win and get back to top 4 this season, I would be happy and it is not necessary to take a step back before moving forward.

Was a good win.  last 3 at Anfield now we have 9 points, 7 goals for, 1 against.

We just need to focus on the away form now.  Huge game against Spurs next week.
