I wonder if this will get as big as the owners thread.

I predict a draw with westham. Followed by roy seeming to be over the moon with the point against a tough team, that set up differently to chelsea.....

Why oh why are you telling people to stop knocking the manager?

This manager deserves NO support and surely any true Liverpool FC fan will refuse to support him . Every single action of this man is symptomatic of a person who is incredibly out of their depth.

The ridiculous and prehistoric tactics; the inappropriate and sometimes downright 'snide' comments to the media; the mistreatment of talented 'footballing' players (e.g Agger, Pacheo, Johnson); the refusal to play football the Liverpool way; and what's more the complete refusal by him to come out and confess that despite his 35 years in the game, he is a completely untalented and distinctly average football manager!

What I don't understand is how this guy is so respected by fellow managers and by the British media? He is clearly an average manager and by nature is not a 'winner'.

Every forum poster is entitled to their views but it just seems laughable that because of the 'Liverpool Way' we are all supposed to 'support the manager'? If we carry on supporting the manager and not protesting loudly for his removal, then I am afraid we will lose our best players and end up either mid table or worse!! This season is there for the taking...get someone in to replace Hodgson on a temporary basis till the end of the season and then reassess. Would Poulsen and Konchesky get anywhere near the starting eleven (or even make the bench) if Kenny was in charge?? I seriously doubt it!!

Hodgson has to go and as fans, it is our duty to force him out for the good of our beloved club. After getting rid of H&G, it seemed as though we were on the up and we were all on a high. However reality has now tempered that 'high' and we are living a waking nightmare with Hodgson and his 'nightmareish' brand of football. Let's not forget which regime appointed this completely average man to one of the most challenging and prestigious jobs in world football!

Rafa had his faults, but at least as a fan you knew he loved the club and the city and tried to do his best for Liverpool FC. Rafa understood what LFC was about whereas Hodgson on the other hand has the air of a man who doesn't understand what it means to be Liverpool manager. He appears angry and bitter that the expectations are so high. His brand of football is so clueless, that one could be forgiven for thinking that he is deliberately 'ruining' the club because of a hidden agenda. Perhaps Hodgson hates this club? It certainly feels so as a fan!

Hodgson OUT.......NOW!!!

I have to agree that 4th is there for the taking this year.  Last year all the pressure was on us.  Now its on City and Spurs.  And both them clubs are struggling to deal with the "big club" label.  Its a great chance to bounce straight back to where we belong.

But we are badly wasting/bottling it.  3 points from matches with Sunderland, Blackpool, Birmingham, Stoke and Wigan is far from good enough.

We just don't seem to have any kind of gameplan at all.  And i agree that our attack minded players are getting alienated.

The fact that YOU cant judge him because YOU haven't seen him play in the First team is a worthless comment. To then associate the same silly comment with when the previous manager was in charge and the player was less experienced is even more surpising, unless you´re just a WUM

Disagree and less of the WUM calling thanks.

''worthless comment''

It'd be worthless if I'd seen him in the ressies, playing blindingly well and then seen him struggle to fit into the first team. First team football is a lot different from reserve, to see whether a player makes the grade is knowing whether HE IS good enough in the first team not the reserve team. Many players down the years have looked great in the reserves, Mellor, Spearing et al but don't quite cut it at the TOP END OF THE GAME, they are different stratospheres completely.

As for my ''silly'' comment about him not playing under Rafa, and you thinking he's 6 months older (Pacheco) and should play, well Reg 'if your good enough your old enough' none of this excuse making about his age and him being a tad older. Hype has surrounded this kid for a few years and now suddenly that Roy's in charge it is demanded that he plays him now to see what he's all about in the FIRST TEAM, Rafa had him for longer and didn't use him enough but nowt was said about that.

I would like to hope to see a similar performance as we saw against Blackburn. But it all depends on the atmosphere.

This is a Roy Hodgson 'appreciation' thread.

If you DONT appreciate him, dont post - simple as - otherwise it becomes a WUM's snidey comment thread which isnt the idea.

I thinks thats a reasonable request.

It probably will happen mate, it did on the Benitez thread so all things being equal I suppose this is now the Roy appreciation thread  ???

I'm not sure it'll get that many posts mind  :D

Since it is a Roy appreciation thread, I STILL think we will improve on last seasons finishing position in the league if we stick with Roy until the end of the season. Not that exciting I know but it is something at least.

This is not the appreciation thread but the Official thread....you may however create an appreciation thread to co-exist with the official thread .

Why not just change the name like we did on the Rafa thread sub, much easier isn't it ???

That one went from being the Rafa Benitez updates to being the Rafa Benitez appreciation thread. You could do the same with this one, then create a Premiership discussion thread where people can talk about managers, teams etc and have a pop at Roy in there.
