LFC2007 wrote:The same people who forgave Rafa for all sorts of things never gave Roy an inch, despite him arriving at a club in financial turmoil, despite inheriting a bunch of disillusioned players and a squad that needed a radical overhaul. From the very beginning, the people who explained (away) Rafa's team's performances generally in terms of anything but the manager - the players, Gerrard, the owners/Parry/Purslow - the "malaise" affecting the team etc.. - now explain our failure to perform in terms of the manager and him alone. That's the difference and it's plain hypocrisy - and nor is it confined to on-the-pitch matters. The same "principled" people who complained about such things as the "patronising" way in which a TV reporter would address the manager in a post-match press conference, are the same people who say of the incumbent, "f'uck off", "keep your mouth shut", "tw@t". The same people who - in the time of the last manager - accused the media of conducting a witch hunt now readily lap up their offerings. Whereas they would play down a Rafa gaffe and Rafa rant, they pounce on each and every one of Roy's utterances that isn't quite acceptable. The worst kind rip into his character and his mannerisms - they will use anything to discredit not only the man's abilities but the man himself. That's when it becomes 100% inevitable that there will be a new manager and I find it a total disgrace.

Thats it in a nutshell.

But then the answer given to justify it all is "well, Rafa got us".

He sure did. And he all but took you with him to italy.

If LFC continues to have Roy as manager, IMO the outcome is very clear to see now. Either mid table finish or fighting a relegation battle, some of our star players will leave, either in January or the summer.

The board did a marvelous job in getting rid of those 2 bloodsuckers from hell but they removed Rafa, I thought they were going to replace him with someone better than him. Unfortunately, they replaced him with a mediocre performing manager. We are a team whose goal every season is to win the premier league like in the 70s and 80s but to this day I still don't understand why did the board choose Roy? Anyone with an average intelligence will tell you that for a club like Lvp, to replace a manager we must replace him with someone with a better track record. When they appointed Roy, it seemed they didn't even have that average intelligence.

Could someone out there let us all know what could be their reasons? Because I just cannot figure it out.

The way I look at is this, regardless of other peoples opinions, I can hold my head high and say with pride, I am a typical Liverpool supporter. I have shown fairness, patience and loyalty to the club that is renowned. I have supported to the best I can every person responsible with Liverpool FC. I have shown myself to be a true Liverpool supporter in which we are renowned.

I can stand up and say that with pride.

How many others can say the same?

Good post mate...

but don't worry if we continue on like this Roy will be gone sooner than later... the new owners didn't buy the club to be a mid-table team, they will make sure of that. Roy is just an interim manager the way I see it.

Because:

a) The 2 bloodsuckers wanted to sell the club and couldn't give a s**t who we got for the short term

b) No decent manager wanted to touch us knowing of the instability going on and the lack of funds

c) No CL meant it was hard to convince a seasoned continental manager to come

d) Our best players wanted to leave and it was going to be a hard task to get them to stay

Has the 28 day clause in Roys contract expired yet?

Also those that want Hiddink..."But at my age I don’t want to manage a club again for seven days a week over three years." GH

It really is amazing.

Even now, considering the squad we have, considering last season, considering all the negatives.

Its all Roys fault.

My god, you lot really are blind.

I am at the point where I cannot find a reply other than "its Roys fault" to satisfy the ignorance.

I find it amazing how everything that was once Rafa's decision in selling our better players, in buying players for daft amounts (Parry) in selling our consistent strikers (Crouch) is all laid at the feet of Roy Hodgson.

I also find it amazing how for so long we have been known as the most knowledgeable fans in the game as from what I have seen, from so many opinions, we are clearly the most ignorant, arrogant and self righteous of all fans.

I can find no other words to describe our current fans as sickening.

If you lousy, glory hunting, sheik hunting bandwagon jumpers want this, then by all means, Man City is just down the road.

This isnt about Roy, this isnt about the club, its about scousers wanting to claim the self righteous "we know best" claim.

NEWSFLASH:

No, you dont.

Your a scouser too aint ya?

Hitting nerves hurts.

I mentioned no names kidda, you did.

I am just sick of the attitude, and all I did was mention the generalisation of how scousers are right and ooters are wrong, and with what you have put, have capped it.

No its not me who is doing this club wrong.

One good thing that comes from Roy's appointment is teams will no longer "park the bus" in front of goal and show us "too much" respect as they did with Rafa. We lost matches last year (our worst year under Rafa) but we were never outplayed as much as we are now. Last year we failed to break teams down, this year we just play cr@p. If Rafa lost the dressing room last year (as some claim) then what can you say about Roy as the players are not playing for him.

It is funny how last year no matter what, some on here only found fault with the manager. This year they only see the positive (as glaringly obvious it is that he is simply not good enough). That is what happens when you paint yourself in a corner. Hide behind "support" all you want folks, but some on here's knowledge of football is shown to be highly questionable. Those that said we had a good team we only needed a new manager to "put an arm around the players" are looking like fools.

Anyone that did not show support to the manager last year has no grounds to talk about support this year as they just look like hypocrits. You wanted Rafa out, well you got your wish, enjoy (so will other teams in the prem)

i want Roy out too. i dont see him a a long term solution. the difference between us Respektfulz and a others on you here, is that we've had the patience to give him a chance, we offer constructive criticism and we do not make personal attacks on Roy. but i wont hold it against anyone if its your upbringing to mock people yeah? just reflects on the lack of eloquence some of you possess.
