jesus christ. how many more people are going to stubbornly refuse to see that there is no contradiction in saying that LFC is overstaffed but that the first team squad is also light? i know there is a tendency for the hard core hodgson haters to dissect and criticise his every utterance but this one just takes the biscuit.

Why does it take the biscuit when it's 100% truth?

show me the original quote where his 'overstaffed' comment is explicitly referring to the fact we have too many first team players and i'll take it all back. i'll send you some chocolates as well.

andy, use smaller words.

overstaffed means the ENTIRE CLUB

first team squad means the 11-15 first team players

two different things

I'll come back when I've filmed what it means in smoke signals and semaphore as well for those hard of thinking

It is incredible to me that every day otherwise sensible people simply cannot see how ridiculous they are being about the whole Hodgson thing :D It's one thing to not believe he is the right man for the job, even that he ought to be replaced immediately, but it is entirely another to conduct the witch hunt and silliness you get on here. People aren't losing the plot, they have already completely lost it. When you consider we are level on points with the spot in which we finished last season, it becomes all the more bizarre.

Pictures of i-pads and the like, then completely getting the wrong end of the stick about what the symbols mean before slagging Roy off because you can't understand what you're looking at :D The World truly has gone mad.

I honestly don't understand why you're so obsessed with last season.  We sacked the manager so we could improve on last season.  (i think)

Now everytime we have a bad result people are comparing it to last season.  We need to move on.

FWIW, I think Roy has improved a lot lately and deserves to stay for the season at least if he can keep it going.  But i think the new owners will replace him in the summer regardless.

No mick has some valid points that should be addressed by others that feel he may have mis-interpreted what they have said , whereas you on the other hand are clearly on this forum to act as a WUM....

With chants of attack attack ringing out every game lately I think we are just fed up with safe football which started under Houllier and was continued by Benitez and now through to Hodgson. I understand we had success under the former managers reigns but its never been pretty for a long time and personally Im fed up with it now. Maybe its the just the way the modern game has gone seeing as most top managers and sides employ this cagey game but not since Roy Evans employed wings backs and the days of McManaman, Fowler and Collymore have I genuinely been excited by attacking football at Liverpool. Its been a long stretch of defensive coaches for us and it will Hodgsons undoing no question about it.

If we were challenging and getting results I don't think too many would complain about the style but when we are struggling and looking to turn a corner to move up the table and we need to grab wins against teams at the bottom then people will be annoyed if we are defensive .
