Maybe people don't think Hodgson is the man for long term BUT I'm going to be happy in the guess that the majority would be happy to let him continue as manager if we got to 4th - which was the point I was trying to make since you keep suggesting that Hodgson will get the push still even if we do get 4th and all because of the fans

I don't mean to be pedantic, but where's YOUR proof that the majority of fans will feel that? Of course you don't have any (aside from the "well I've been at the game etc etc" stuff), it's your opinion.

It's different to mine, that's cool. I actually hope you're right, but both of our opinions are merely guesses.

Shall we do a poll Mick and see or read through the countless threads on here and see what everyone wants us to achieve ? . It seems the common consensus on here is that 4th is what they expect and I have not seen one person say he should still be sacked even if he got 4th

You obviously havent been paying attention. Ask ciggy the question and see what answer you get. I have friends who are regular match-goers who are adamant that Roy must go no matter what, using the excuse BM said that "if we succeed it will be down to Rafa not Woy".
By the way, your "put away the matches" routine always makes me smile.
Im on to you...
:eyebrow

I am a match-goer and have many friends who go to the match and I would say the it's a mixed bag of thoughts on the subject...and it's not based on any anti or pro rafa stance either..

If targets are achieved ie; 4th place, a pot of silverware then it's not beyond the realms of possibility that Roy will earn himself a 2nd season at the helm...despite what some anti/pro rafa newkit members think.... hopefully the players will afford Roy that option the same way the majority of fans will...the owners may have other ideas because they have read the Jose thread and realise only he can win the Premiership for Liverpool :D  which means he would get the boot anyway ...even if we bagged the FA Cup and Euro double

Hodgson will get more and more support IF he keeps winning football matches.  Simple really.  You can already sense that people are getting more pleased with him. (slightly for now).

A win tonight and i reckon we'll move up to top 6th/7th area.  Unfortunately a lose or draw will probably put us back to lower half.

i do wonder what targets have been set for Roy this year, the club know what the team was like and how much money they had to spend at the time of setting them.
i would say they were set very low, say 5th spot and try your best in the cup games?

Dont blame it on the last yanks,
Dont blame it on the new yanks,

How about to the John Lennon tune:

Hodgson will get a song when people get behind him.

Right now people either want him to go, or want to give him a chance....dont think anyone is convinced he should be here yet, or will be for a long time....

thats my guess as to why there's no song for him. Plus apart from recently, there's been nothing to sing about :;):
