Exactly

I wish the man all the best at Inter but I really couldn't give a f*ck how he gets on unless in future Inter play Liverpool. At the moment Im interested In Liverpool and as far as I know our manager is Roy Hodgson, so thats were my interest lies.

Can we all just give it a miss and get over it......including Roy and Rafa!

PRECISELY  why the outrage ? its not the first time Roy's been caught out spinning a yarn

Firstly Im disappointed that Roy said this (if he did) but I can understand that he is constantly trying and mostly failing to win fans over with his statements.
But I am more disappointed that Benitez seems hell bent on searching for disparaging comments from our club in order to fire shots back and cause damage. He doesnt have to do this. If he kept a dignified silence I personally would respect him more and feel that Hodgson was out of order. As it is I feel that Benitez is totally disrespecting the very people he claims to have given pride to and fought for. Us.
He, of all people should know that what is happening at the club is ripping the fan base apart and his comments will make the flames higher. Yet he chooses to do this regardless of the trouble he knows he is causing.

TBF Rafa said tonight Roy has been fed wrong information by someone and is passing it on in the press, he said he respect Hodgson but what he is saying is not true.  And he still has friends at Liverpool and they keep telling him what Roy is saying and he wants it to stop and had to defend himself against things that are just not true.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Fair enough. We all know what the press is doing. But Benitez knows what hes doing as well and should resist the urge to cause trouble. He knows exactly how it works and is not doing it for the good of LFC. No matter what he says.

Thommo, for someone who apparently dislikes the "hysterical response" to some of Roy's comments, you don't half appear to get riled yourself when Rafa chips in with a thought-provoking reply setting the record straight (or at least his version of "straight").

From my point of view, I would have preferred it if Roy had stayed out of the Rafa debate and got on with his job, and if Rafa had exercised restraint and got on his job. But it really is something of a minor point because media tittle-tattle shouldn't matter a jot. It's just that, unfortunately, it sometimes is perceived as being of some consequence; and so people speak of this episode "dividing the fans", "causing deep offence", "being the final straw" and such like, well that's not how it is, that's how you see it. You don't have to see in those terms.

That's half the problem these days with foreign owners. They all expect a quick return. Look how many managers Chelsea have had in the last few years? It's a double edged sword sometimes having a sugar daddy owner.
