Well I won’t worry until Roy brings out a sheet of paper in a press conference and starts to say FACT at the end of every sentence. Either that or guarantee us a top 4 finish and watch as the rest of the premier league pi$$ themselves with laughter.

People go on about Roy, but Rafa was cringe worthy in press conferences on a regular basis.

Rafa would also air our dirty washing in public and drag out his arguments with the board into post match interviews. Anyone remember him refusing to rule out becoming England boss? then Real boss? Just so he could get his new, inflated all powerful contract?

Dear me, talk about selective memory…. :no

Id rather a bunch of FACTS and a "guarantee" of 4th then saying something like "We don't normally win away from home".

Good enough for what ? Last season posters like yourself were saying it was good enough to be in the top 4 and the manager was at fault - has that changed now .

I did think that last season our squad was good enought o get into the top four yes. This season as I've said many times, I think it is good enough to challenge for it (I think the emergence of Man City means we won't get in).

So is it good enough? Well not if you waqnt to dream of winning the title no. It IS good enough though if you want to dream of the top six. It just depends how ambitious you are I suppose.

So surely its a better squad than what we are witnessing on the pitch ? So was Hodgson right when he is mentioning flops and B team etc ?

Well if I'm saying we are good enough to challenge for the top four, yet we are 12th, then naturally I think the squad is capable of finishing much higher than it currently sits. Yes, obviously (remember I don't deny the sky is blue). Fortunately, I think we WILL finish higher than 12th, then we'll be better able to judge.

As for whether Hodgson was right when he talked about the club signing too many flops, of course he was. I cannot see how anyone can sensibly dispute it to be honest, although this forum is full of surprises obviously.

But he didnt say the club signed too many flops - he said currently there is more expensive flops in the squad than cheap freebies - or words to that effect - so basically slating the current players .

And as for the flops that will always be about opinion and whether they are expensive or not - obviously it depends on price and where they play

Dossena left back 7 mil - flop or doesnt suit the prem

Keane - flop or was the wrong player for our team

Aquilani - flop or had injury problems

Morientis - flop or a world class striker who isnt suited to the prem

I dont really like the word flop as it suggests the guys are useless players when in reality they arent - some work out some dont but the ones that dont work out will find their feet elsewhere so they are good enough players .

I can't be bothered to debate individual players, it's been done 100's of times. I simply think it is a statement of fact to say that over the last dozen seasons, too many of our transfers haven't paid off.

And i think its proberly a statement of fact that the success rate etc is prob along the same lines as all the other clubs .

I must admit whenever I hear Roy talk about how "we don't normally win away from home" or how it would be good to do this and that or my personal favourite "I would like to believe we can ... blah blah blah..." it makes my blood curdle a bit.. However, when I think about it, is he not just been honest and not trying to big us up?

It was 4 hundred and forty two days since Roy last won away from home.

With Liverpool, Fulham and blackburn over 66 away games he's won 6.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

This Rafa comment really grates me!

Its obvious that he does not want our new MANAGER (as oppose to COACH) to succeed.

All of you rafa fans, ask yourself this question.

"DO YOU THINK RAFA WOULD BE HAPPY IF WE WON A FA & UEFA CUP DOUBLE?"

If your answer to this question is "NO", then you have to presume that the man does not have our club, or fans best interest at heart.

The man tries to get our players on the cheap, takes a huge pay off from the club (another debate), and publicly underminds the Liverpool Football Club Manager (not coach).

What more does he have to do, for you to realise that he is an arrogant, stubborn, and now somewhat bitter individual.

I think he should be concentrating on how he's going to stop Gareth Bale tomorrow night, rather than trying to publicly humiliate our manager.

BTW is there any way to find my previous posts, i'm sure i've had some deleted from this thead.

?

Think rafa would be made up for us tbh . Iknow i would be made up , can't see it somehow though can you ?

The rest of your post is bollox by the way .

Benny The Noon wrote:Here is a question for you Dawson

What is worse for team morale and the effect on the players

1. Telling them they are good enough or

2. Saying there is flops and B team and not good enough

Which is worse Dawson .

but both are 100% true.

and the only thing is to blame is how the club has been set up for years.

since the bootroom was booted out the club is said not to have the same feel, now i dont know that as i am not a player but theres not many players at our club that even know what the bootroom was.

lets face it, its going to take a few years to get this club back to how it was .
I am not saying Rafa is to blame for this i am saying that all the managers we have had since Kenny have had there part to play in where the club is today, the owners who first sold the club and G&H are also to blame.

I was looking back at some old news papers the other day and they were from 1997, in it Ian rush says that he fears what could happen to Liverpool if they dont win the prem in the next few years, he says that liverpool have a team with some great young kids coming in, but if they dont win the prem soon then the club will forget how to win it forever as once you stop winning it its very hard to re build and do it again.

Rush took loads of stick for that, there was a liverpool fans qouted on the same page saying that Rush dont know what he was talkinging about......like to see what that fan has to say right now.

is it that we have had a poor run of managers that have just not cut it in the prem? they they buy the wrong players?

well to start with it was not the lack of money back then that was the problem, we had a great team of young kids.

Rush had just left the club and it was the first time i think that money started to come into football big time, but we had the young kids there to use..and for a few years we were all saying ARR BUT NEXT YEAR WILL BE OUR YEAR but it never was....why?

something had changed at the club, history was being left behind, the sole was being taken out of the club bit by bit untill this year when it looks like theres nothing left to take.

GH was sacked as he said it was going to take him two more years to win the prem, Rafa got the job and was told it had to happen sooner than that. yes we won the CL with the team GH built, but right after that we again got shot of loads of players that had made us a wiining team, three years ago i was sure Rafa had got the right mix of players in our team and the year after we was going to win the prem...what happened in that summer, he sold most of them and put in players that did not fit, yes torres was a great buy.

so to sum it all up, its all the owners fault and the board and the managers. all of them for years and years and years.

Ian Rush saw it coming.
