Skyrtel ruined my last holiday in Glasgow, some Serbian pensioner had a go at my socks as well

So is the thread back to the subject of the current manager yet or are the handbags still being thrown ?

My take - on the pitch results have improved which is good to see , performances are still way below par , better players are woeful at the moment , some of the less appreciated players are stepping up to the mark . Massive improvement on the pitch is still required but the good news is other teams are also faltering - this next stage of the season is crucial , Hodgson said judge him after ten games well at the moment the school report would say "must do lots better ". As for what he is saying in the media it is getting more cringeworthy what he is saying and its not helping his cause with the fans one bit . Time for him and the big players to earn their paychecks - get a good run of form going and things will get easier for the club and manager and then he may actually show us he is good enough to be our manager .

Think that's fair enough that.

Hodgson has a massive chance mate and he has to concentrate on grabbing it by just getting to grips with the team and getting results - stop with the slating of the team or previous manager , stop the stupid statements about historic wins in Europe or being the better team in the derby - if he gets results then people will warm to him . The support is there for the  team - I lost my voice on Sunday the singing was that good .

when our performances are below par - what exactly is 'par'? is it the performances we showed when beating man united, chelsea and real madrid, or the performances we showed when being unable to beat stoke city, west ham and the like? if i'm not mistaken 'par' pretty much means average or expected. in that case what we've seen in the last two matches is pretty much on a par with what we saw last season and for chunks of the season before.

we all know that this team is capable of turning on the style once in a while and handing just about anyone their backsides on a plate, but a lot of people seem to remember us as some kind of regular potent force. the fact is that for most of the time we're not.

The difference for me Andy is a few things - 1. Chances we create 2. The pressure we put the opposition under 3. The high tempo and quick breaks from back usually from a Pepe throw or kick . Last season results were poor and we did have some shocking performances but IMO this season is so much worse . Everything I mentioned at the start is stuff we have seen regulary over the last 6 seasons but are missing this season - we aren't creating any chances ( last season we didn't take the chances ) , we don't put the opposition under any pressure and for the most parts we are under pressure our selves more often and this season I can only really remember one quick effective break ( against Blackburn ) and then there is the defending - we have moved to sitting deep and moved to man marking and both have made us extremely poor at the back and constantly leaving pep exposed

this is something i'd agree with. pepe has often been a fantastic instigator of counter attacks and loves to get the ball out quickly and accurately. i've noticed quite a few times this season a look of frustration on his face when he's been looking to move it out quickly and there's just no one making the runs.

so yes, the style of play has been different but i'm seeing signs of a return to being a bit more pressing and an attempt to play a higher tempo. my general point remains though, we have very rarely been a hugely entertaining an potent attacking team for some time now. the last two games have been pretty much a return to the norm.

Yeah your prob right - during the last 6 seasons we were prob more effective without playing Hollywood football but could it seems be able to take the step up to crush teams . At the moment we don't even seem effective - against Blackburn there were a few little signs that a few players were waking up and we looked like a football team but the last twenty mins we just retreated backwards and Sunday we were just flat and never looked like being able to step up any gears . That is the prob  for me at the moment - I can't see the extra gears we need to kick on .
