Nail on head.

Perhaps as  St Mike has mentioned he's been overshadowed by others. Since Mascherano's departure Lucas seems to have played with a bit more authority although his performances (along with the rest of the team) have still been disappointing.

The fella did have a good game against Blackburn, hopefully it won't just be a one off.

He did very well against Blackburn. But to be fair all the players surrounding him, Cole, Meireles and Maxi were on form as well which can make passing for Lucas easier...

One thing is definite though, we don't need Poulsen and paying 6 million for him is pretty daft...

it was encouraging to see him setting the tempo though but as bad bob says he now needs to do it on a more regular basis. in the past he's almost looked in awe of the other players around him. yesterday he took the game by the scruff of the neck.

how poulsen can ever start ahead of him is beyond me.

Spot on Michael ....I have been advocating a Meireles and  Lucas pairing in the middle for a while now mate ,Lucas frees the likes of Meireles to push forward and feed the wingers ,my other change would be to see Rodriguez playing just behind Torres and Gerrard on the right wing
but Yesterday was definitely a glimpse of a brighter style of play ,and Lucas played a significant part in that transformation

i liked his performance against Blackburn. i remember at some point there was a 4 on 3 and Lucas of all people was leading the counter attack. i hope to see such performances like this from him. best ive seen him in a red shirt.

Top quality again today. Don't think he misplaced one pass. Continues to improve.

Another solid performance from the Lad ,and it was definitely a battle out there especially against Muamba ,but Mascherano couldn't have done better he broke the play up well and is now hopefully on an upward curve .... one thing is obvious his continued presence in our midfield is now becoming an essential if we want to climb that table

Yeah, I`m made up he`s starting to win doubters over with his solid displays, especially after being booed by his own fans early last season. He reacted in the right way, a model pro.

I love the way the lad has just gotten on with his business despite all the criticism he's faced (some others at the club take note) and now he is starting to win over some of the doubters. According to Guardian chalkboards he has made 48 passes today and only 2 were given away. Last week it was 41/1 and contrary to popular myth lots were forwards. Well in Lucas, you're the Daddy! (Or at least ya will be.)

In 20 years time, when the marble statue of Lucas Leiva is the centrepiece  of our brand spanking New Anfield Stadium/Hotel/Shopping Mall we'll look back and wonder how we could possibly have doubted him.

True, right now he reminds me of Lucas who came on for the first time against Everton and bossed the game.  Hope he continues playing like this.

Lucas was Boss??? What are we at about?? The lad wasn't felt one bit and the reason some people here think he played well was because you don't remember any bad passing or silly fouls he commited ,and you know why? Bolton played high balls skipping the midfield ,balls were flying above him so he wasn't that involoved. I agree my mind is set on Lucas ,he isn't a Liverpool material and he prooved it day in and out for the past years. We all need to expect more from a CM and not settle for mediocrity.

I thought he was excellent today , really growing into the role , much better than poulsen . He may not be a top class defensive midfielder like masch but he will prove to be a good player in future. I remember when fletcher first broke onto the scene for united , he was :censored: poor and always the scape goat whenever results went their way , now he's virtually undropable for them. As long as lucas is playing well and keep poulsen out i'll be happy
