Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

There have been far, far too many false dawns with Lucas to start getting excited about one good strike.

The lad isn't good enough and never will be.  He's a grafter and you have to admire that, but for a central midfielder his tackling and passing isn't good enough.  He isn't particularly effective at shielding the back four, nor is he effective in our final third in either scoring goals or making an incisive pass.  But central midfield is an area where we have seen a lot of upheaval in the squad this summer and Lucas is also the type who'll sit on the bench without any fuss - these are the only two reasons Hodgson has kept him around imo.  He'll be gone next summer most likely.

My mate said that  :D

But to be fair that was a great shot.
I dont care if anyone says he had time, that was a really top strike.

Yeah it was a good strike.

His first touch was gold though.

I would say that in this stage in time it doesn't really matter even if Lucas pulls a carreer hat trick againt ManU on Sunday. The lad in my opinion showed us all he can offer Liverpool FC ,for me personally it's not enough. I don't regard him a premier league material and that's it. We can keep hoping and analyzing this game or the other ,Bottom Line Lucas has no place in Liverpool not as a squad player and in now way shape or form as a starting player. Wish him the Best Just not in Anfield.

As 1 of 11 players on the pitch.  Let's not make it out as if it was primarily down to Lucas that we've had recent success against the Mancs.

No one is suggesting as such . Just highlighting the lad has a good record against them and could be a sort of omen thats all .

It was a terrific strike. Lucas is still young and can learn but it's time in his career to step up and be noticed. He's got this goal it should give him great confidence but we need to see him pushing forward more and trying more, i believe he has it in him he just needs confidence. It's time for Lucas to step up and show what he's made of.

I think he was that exausted once he'd sprinted to make up the ground between him and the ball after his first touch, that having a shot was just about the only option he had left.

Can't people just say - great shot well done instead of trying to find something wrong ?!
