Hasn't he already done it once before with the B Team comments - IMO he is talking about current squad .

Expensive flops?

Glen Johnson.
Alberto Aquilani.
Robbie Keane.

Thats nigh on £60 million there. Hate to break it to you folks, he has a good point.

And there was us with no money to spend...

I'm metalhead ofcourse :D

The only time Skrtel stood up was against Chelsea in Stamford bridge when we drew 0-0, then comes the 3-0 loss against the Mancs back then, when Skrtel made Titus Bramble look world class. I just knew from that game that Skrtel won't be good enough for the team. He isn't as good as Agger on the floor, he isn't as good as Soto in the air, he isn't as good as Carragher in marking or positioning.

you naughty boy  :D

Skrtel will have time to develop. CBs get better as they age.

then ask yourself a simple question;
at this moment in time, are there more expensive failures than good signings in the current squad? by any stretch of the imagination does a positive answer to that question make sense?

now ask yourself;
over the past several seasons (a but unspecific, i know) have we signed more expensive failures than made genuinely good signings?

to me only the second one makes any kind of sense and any one but a fool would be referring to the second scenario. like i said, hodgson has been a little clumsy in the early weeks of his reign but i very much doubt he is stupid enough to make such a sweeping criticism of his squad.

What's the manager said now? Not more Carlos Alberto talk? I've had it up to here with Carlos Alberto.

Skrtel been a bit of Jekyll and Hyde player for me since his arrival

Though this year for what Ive seen very much a liability especially with some of his rugby tackling in the penalty box

I certainly rather see Agger in the side ahead of him at the moment
