Is it true that Scousers are quite Scandinavian, I'm sure I read somewhere that they share a lot of the same genetic material etc?

 Scandanavian,

Look i wasnt havin a dig at Roy in my post above for all those who dived in . But fecking hell Carragher reminded him of  Carlos Alberto,  if any of yous remember orhave watched the great great Carlos Alberto then you will understand why it was comical, And for those who keep harping on about because some of us jump on some of the mental things Roy comes out with associating us with wanting Liverpool to lose just so he fails, have a word with yourselves , i pay my money to go the match ,i travel all over and i want Liverpool to not do well just so Roy can fail, yeh right behave , I could just sit on here and slate him why wastes my money. unbelievable some of the things people say , Im not happy hes our manager your right but feckin hell that dosnt mean i want us to not to batter everyone that stands in front of us .

No, the outstanding factor that explains why - with the same group of players as last season, plus a few improvements - the team has on the whole played far worse than last season, is the manager.

We're mongrels really due to sailors and people coming here from all over the world. The Irish connection is deffo the strongest. The welsh have got a stake as well. The Italians, West Indians, Asians, Scandinavians and of course the Chinese. Add a bit of jock and english, then put them all in the pot and youve got a big pan of scouse.

Sound as larrr

I'm not sure whether some of you lot are taking the p!ss when you say that comment was "comical" - as in, "Roy is deluded if he thinks Carra was like the Carlos Alberto of old....another sign that our manager is completely clueless" - but if that is what you mean then you're obviously taking the reference too literally.

Have it your way. It had fu'ck all to do with Benitez and his disastrous signings and tactics and absolutely nothing to do with the players underperforming. Twit and tw@t werent a factor whatsoever and the negativity from supporters and the media had no effect at all.

Yes - what are all these Drama queen's thinkin .. when the manager describes the performance at Everton as the 'best' and 'we should have won'..  and then a week later describes  the performance against Blackburn (above us on GD) as the max we can get.. hey what's all the fuss bout fellas...fellys..

:help  :help

Lets not beat each other-up over what was said and done, the likely-hood is that the new owners will look for a new manager; have decided to avoid spending big in the Jan window, to avoid the problems associated with that - for me the only January signing worth his weight in gold has been Arshavin.

In the summer they will assembel a 'transfer budget' and appoint a manager 'capable' of taking this club further.

If of course the league position remains perilous.. then the latter should come in to affect sooner...

I didn't say that at all. When people get angry with the players for not doing the club justice I completely agree with them, and I believe that anger serves a purpose - if all a player ever hears is the manager taking the flak, they won't feel the burden of responsibility as much as they should. However, in a practical sense, the manager is directly responsible for ensuring that the players perform to standard. If they're not, then drop them, fire rockets, change the setup etc.. do whatever's necessary. So, if the quality of the squad is more or less equivalent as last season, then that ^ the stuff the manager does to get the players performing to standard, hasn't been there (until last Sunday) and is therefore the outstanding factor that most obviously explains the drop in performance.

so Roy is not allowed to praise Carragher for his attacking display? Roy can't use the Blackburn game as a benchmark to go on and get the same performance against Bolton next week? Seriously, some of you lot have a personal vendetta on the man, what do you want from him really? He is basically saying if  we put the same performance we gave against Blackburn we will win more games, now that is not hard to understand is it? I really have no clue whats wrong he said in his above comments? please clarify.

So many minds are made up on him it really doesnt matter what he says now, he`ll always be criticized.
As long as the team is performing I dont care who the manager is.
That said I dont think he`s right for the job either but if we manage to go on a run I`d be happy to change my mind.

Norwegian and Irish. Mostly Irish.

No more Norwegian than most other English port citys. Alot of Welsh ancestry (celtic) and just as much English as Irish.
I`d say around 60% English, Irish mix and 40% other. Very diverse city.
Anyway its a load of sh!te, you go back far enough and we are all the same.  :)

But it does work though.  Mourinho has been largely successful because he has a special bond with his team and they respect the hell out of him.  That's why they play out of their skin for him every time.

This thread has gone into overdrive since our victory on Sunday.
I am a little confused by people's thoughts.

Are the majority of fans on here happy with the result and the way we played ?
I havent been in the match thread so i am not sure. The reason i am asking is because there is still much negativity after a very decent performance and obviously we won the game.

I see people are not happy with the comments he has made after the game but to me it seems to be another reason to jump all over the manager as there wasnt anything else to ridicule him over.

Sange, I think your'l find the comment was a bit tongue in cheek, it sounded like it when I watched the interview. According to Red you scousers are meant to pick up on this sort of thing!
