in my own view both are wrong for the club, the way i see it Rafa was taken here to win the prem and it did not look like it was going to happen, Roy was taken here to sort out the mass of poor players we had at the club when we hand no money, it has not worked out.

Look I agree that it was time for Rafa to go.. but are you honetsly saying the istanbul and the improvements in the league, made him wrong fot he club..  ???

Roy was brought in by a defunct regime, removing the biggest obstacle to the face of their 'reign' , the outspoken manager, whose position was being backed by the heartbeat of the club; 'those cyber terrorists', Rafa too played the game, drwaing on the emotions of the fans, but he did it for the good of the club, to higfhlight the prblems without blurting it out !

So lets get over Rafa, he has gone, it was right that he came here, if only for the spine tingling night in Istanbul - and oh what a night it was, unswapable  :bowdown

Roy should never have been his replacement, and I fear for him, this spell will define what has been a good career otherwise. I don't wish him bad, but this club of ours deserves the best.. and you don't remove a class manager, even if his time was up, for the manager of FULHAM FC !
THE BRENDAN REVOLUTION IS UPON US !

RAFA.. MADE THE PEOPLE HAPPY !

Then we have the people who think Roy deserves some time to turn things around. Sadly the results and time are against him and his days look numbered, which is the way it goes. I believe the players, especially the senior ones have played a significant part in all of this and whatever happens, they should hang their heads in shame.
If we get a new manager lets hope hes a miracle worker. If not we will have all these disrespectful ar'seholes calling for his head after a few games.
Round and round and round....

Y'know Thommo........ I dont have the foggiest idea anymore.

You think the players are seriously involved against an LFC manager? Torres sulking, Agger effectively on strike ??

All I can see is the club is not visibly responding to quell the unrest. Sammy is quiet, KK is quiet... yet the fans are in turmoil and the players seem half hearted.

Dunno mate but I do NOT want the manager sacked because of fan power which helped get rid of the former owners but now the genie has to be put back into the bottle and the manager retake control.

He cant do it without the backing of the players mate.
The depressive in me says were fu'cked no matter what now. The fans are split when they should be united (YNWA and all that sh'it).
The managers got no time.
The players are underperforming.
As I said, we need a miracle worker...

I hope so DD if only for his own  respectability and self worth surely this must be as equally detrimental to his own confidence
he needs to go for the good of the club and for his own self esteem .... sorry but I can see no other alternative mate ,there is no sorrier sight than a man struggling to keep his head above water ....and all signs of his credibility as a manager are quickly going under along with the hopes of the club we love

do we have to talk about Istanbul ? how many players from that team did he go on to get shot of, in his view they wre not very good, anyway GH built that team not RAFA and one day the truth about the 15 mins will come out in two players books, yes some ex players talk about it now and what a big part the two liverpool born player had in picking up the team and how the fans picked them up even more on the way out for the 2nd half.

rafa is in my view one of the best cl managers there are, butr he was never going to be a great prem manager, that was my view the week before he got the job and has been the same ever siince.

as for roy.

he is a fire fighter of a manager, he can be too nice to the players, he has also been know tio get setting teams out wrong, but he can pick a team up when they are down.....just dont see its going to happen here untill we get new players...in truth i dont wish him tio be the one to buy the players for our team when the monbey comes in , as there are better managers out there.

You all go on about Rafa not being good enough anymore, I suggest you switch to ITV now and watch the pressing the Inter team (and no team has ever pressed anything other than their fecking trousers in Italy) are doing and tearing the Jowel faced cnut that is Harry Redknapp a new asrehole!!!
Shankly on boardroom meetings - 'At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques.'

Javier Zanetti, at 37 years and 71 days, has become the oldest goalscorer in Champions League history.

Its one hell of a coincidience that Dundalk because 37 years and 71 days is exactly the length of time it takes Christian Poulsen to run the 100 metres

I know hindsight is wonderful thing, and the less a player plays the better or more important they become....but...

Since July Roy has seriously let us down.

As a man, and a gentleman he is beyond reproach.  A lovely chap, who respects our club and seems truly honoured to be in the job, but there are some really serious worries, around errors of judgement.

1.  Effectively replaces Insua with Konchesky.  An upcoming LB with real attacking quality, still learning, but was starting to look the part is replaced by a journeyman player who has never played at the top levels of English football.  Plus this "swap" cost us £4m.

2.  Replaces Mascherano with Poulsen.  Yes I know the Masch money also bought Merieles, but I'll come on to that.  Poulsen looks to be one of THE worst signings in our history, and he seems to have signed him as a few years ago he fancied him, and finally had the money and club to lure him.  Another £4m down the swanny.

3.  He signs Mereiles who is a quality player without a doubt.  All good then?  No, he immediately plays him out of position on the right, when we have Pacheco, Babel, Maxi etc and if needed several youngsters who could play there.  So that's £14m well spent then!

4.  He appears to have no backbone.  When you manage LFC the ONE thing you cannot do is afford to be seen bowing down in any way to SAF.  Friends or not he has to appear strong, and not scared of him.  His failure to dismiss SAF's comments about Torres cheating showed that he is scared of SAF, and it wouldn't surprise me to find out this is why Torres has the hump with him, and Gerrard and Carra for that matter.

5.  Daniel Agger is a cultured ball playing CB who when fit would get into most EPL teams.  Yes he has been injured but when fit has only made it into the team as emergency LB cover.  Another valuable player that is now :censored: off.

6.  He allows Aquilani to go on loan FOR A YEAR!!  I know he has struggled to get anywhere near what everyone hoped he would be, due to injury, so what do we do?  We carry him for a season, get him fit, and then give him away....for A YEAR.  Why not for a month or three instead and see how he is doing??  Ironically he is showing himself to be a decent player at Juve.  Who would have guessed!!

7.  His lack of understanding and recognition of the desperate nature of our performances and position show a complete disconnect with the club he now manages and what appear to be his own expectations of what is required or classed as acceptable.  "A good point" and similar phrases are fine for Fulham most weeks, but for us, should only apply away at Top 4 teams (sometimes) and perhaps away at CL giants.  This is what we have come to expect, but if the manager doesn't I'm afraid it just shows he is not up to the stature of the job.

Now on the plus side...well he secured Joe Cole who regardless of the wages he is getting is a signing worthy of our club.  He signed Mereiles yes, but can't work out where to play him!!

If he can get so much wrong in three months with disastrous results (both in games and regarding our league and cup positions) I cannot contemplate him seeing out the season, or even the next two months.

The time is right now, in line with the new owners, and the huge wave of relief that has brought to the club, to bring in a proven BIG CLUB manager, who can manage the egos that no doubt exist in our squad, and more basically work out what players and formation is required to get 3 points...something Roy has managed only once, at home, unconvincingly to a newly promoted team.

If we leave Roy in charge, I can see us not winning in the league against Blackburn, Bolton and Chelsea, and cementing our place in the relegation zone at xmas.

There is something simply not working with Roy and the players, and frankly I don't give a toss if it is the Liverpool way or not, to wait would be irresponsible.
