Of course it doesn't matter mate, it never did. Some people though are obsessed with the "I told you so's", so I'm just admitting it while they're all back patting themselves. There's already been a few "we told you blah blah blah" posts over the last couple of days, and no doubt there'll be a lot more yet.

Good luck to em, it looks like they got this one right. Like I said though, it was just a shame they couldn't make their point without the disrespect and abuse.

Mate I'm not apportioning blame to anybody. I've been as guilty as anybody, more so than most, of going on about benitez but I absolutely 100% think that unless the fans (us, all of us) get right behind the manager (and being realistic it's going to be a new one sooner rather than later), we won't prosper.

The club is in the sh!tter right now, and as fans we need to do our bit. We've got a huge job for whoever is to become the manager, and it's time everybody realised it.

Please stop constantly going on about the fans and backing of manager - it has nothing to do with Hodgson and his failures as a manager . As has been pointed out many of times as soon as the first goes the fans get right behind the manager - BUT they also have to show us something at least .

Interesting fact that......although the anti posse would never believe it

Another interesting thing is the lack of back patting by the most fervent Pro Rafa's and the absence of I told you so's....

No need for I told you so....for some ditching the manager before the owners was always going to be fraught with problems , especially as the options for a new manager were so limited and the clubs future in such turmoil.

Roy Hodgson is like a mediocre version of Roy Evans, they are both far too nice to be good PL managers but Evans at least knew how to play effective attacking football, it was control of team discipline and defense he sucked at, whereas Hodgson sucks at all parts, I can see no redeeming qualities whatsoever!
Hodgson needs to go sooner rather than later otherwise we really will be in the :censored: and if this doesn't constitute a crisis then Lord knows what does!!!

 Humble pie. The club continues on the path of freefall which was started by Rafa's six year plan, and people still can't bring themselves to admit it was time for him to go :D. I really do worry about some of the sky isn't blue merchants, even after all this time and even after seeing how poor the squad really is, they still can't accept it.

If eating humble pie means those of us who thought Roy might be up to it look like they were wrong, cut me off a slice by all means. As far as benitez is concerned though, some of you must just be gluttons for punishment :D . Let it go FFS already.

We keep making mistakes because we held on to Benitez too long and then where in a poor position to replace him and took a punt Hodgson which appears to have backfired as well. I felt he was worth a shot but unfortunately he appears to have many of the same traits as the previous manager when we actually need a revolution and a right shake up. Hodgson will probably look back and maybe say he just want brave enough and blew his chance. Anyways its looking like will need another so I guess this time we should go for a younger guy, maybe Rijkaard that type, play some football and totally change the approach which aint happening any time soon under our Roy.

Nice spot Parch, was looking at Rikjaard as an option. Probably one of the better younger coaches out there with an attacking philosophy.

He benefited much from the youth poilicy at Barca when in charge there and perhaps could help with developing it here.

This comment perhaps belongs in another thread so will copy/paste there :D

Now you question his ability as captain. Ffs try looking at what he has around him at Liverpool if you really want to know where the problem is. Gerrard is brilliant but he is not a fkg miracle worker. This forum is fickle beyond belief.

The "anti Gerrard" sentiment on here is something I stopped even trying to understand many moons ago mate. A blind man could see on Sunday that he was head and shoulders the best player on either team, but people still question whether or not he's a good enough inspirational leader.

He can't win really, he never could.

Mick, you're seeing things that dont exis, there is no anti-Gerrard sentiment, the lad is a wonderful player, a pleasure to watch. All I have said is that IMO he is not the same calibre of leader as previous red captains and that, under a scenario of having a Thommo, Emlyn or Souness style of captain Woy  might have got a better response from the team.

A football team is TEAM - manager, coach, captain and players.

Based on folks comments of late, that complete chain has broken down.

When sacking your manager it can only be a positive move if the replacement is the better option but only the most fervent of Benitez haters were happy to have anything as long as it wasn't Roffa.....

squad really bad... a couple of months ago you claimed the squad was good enough for top 4, now with the addition of Konchesky and Poulsen it's dire straits.....

Thats Humble Pie and Dire Straits.....this is the Old Grey Whistle Test  :D

I seriously think that the new owners will be in a better position to attract a higher quality manager than Roy Hodgson who is an extremely nice guy but history suggests that he has limitations. I don't share the view that he is an embarrassment or out of his depth as some people suggested soon after his appointment. I do however agree that he was a compromise in the same way as some of the players he has bought. Thank H & G for those compromises but don't blame Hodgson for having to shop in the bargain basement. I would like to give the guy a fair crack of the whip and eight games is simply not enough with the aggravation his has encountered. Sure he has made mistakes but so did many managers before him. At least give him half  a season before calling for his head.

Mick, I agree with you 100% we undoubtedly need to get behind the manager but I think the point folks are trying to make who have seen every game thus far this season is that he isnt the right manager.

So first get the right guy in, then back him 100%. As I've said over teh last few weeks, I reserve my opinion of Roy because I haven't seen enough games to comment.
