ROY HODGSON - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby kalos » Sun Oct 17, 2010 5:18 pm

Roy Hodgson like Roy Evans before him has no dreams left to achieve.

BOTH of them fulfilled their dreams just by becoming Liverpool Manager.

We need someone who is a giant mentally, football-wise and in his AMBITION.

Roy will get us somewhere between 14th and the drop if he stays - thats his level of mental strength- watch the interview clip - he is a defeated man in his body language, facial expression and tone of voice- and I don't mean just this game.

We need to get rid by Xmas at the very latest as thats how long it will/should take to sit and THINK through who can turn this around as Manager.

As for the table the wrong way up, I hope he isn't because unless Torres starts to play better than he is then we could be in serious trouble.

I think the patches you refer to Mick are the dry ones Roy left  after his familiar battles with his  Urinary incontinence,
Maybe the man should stay seated on his prescription pads ...it would be less embarrassing for all involved, and this in turn would save him openly taking the Piss out of us fans

Liverpool scored 27 goals last season in 8 games, we have scored 7 goals this season in 8 games.

Rafas fault !!!

Poor comparison. Evans had us playing some fantastic stuff. Exciting attacking football. Roy has us playing like a bunch of part-timers with a hang-over.

Look I'm deliberately not getting drawn into a whose fault is it debate, because right now it doesn't really make much difference. I don't think anyone would deny though that right now we don't have enough really good players, and one of the ones we do have is absolutely stinking the place out.

a lot has changed since then, for one torres seems to have forgot where the goal is, niot sure whats up with him, not been right since just before the world cup, he has no balance, seem to get the ball mixed up under his feet a lot, not right, very strange.

Look we all know there are better managers out there than Roy, but right now he is playing wil only a half deck of cards, i just dont think another manager will solve ALL the problems, yes we might pick up a few good results but we might get them anyway.

as for it being Rafa fault, well yes in part it is, in my view he did a lot of mistakes AND  we are paying for them now with what players we have been left with.

ciggy do you think the problem with our club can be fixed very fast or is it a case that it might take two years to fix.

I don't think it is Zara if Torres is playing like he is. I know people will say it's the managers job to get him to play better and it is, but right now he is an absolute passenger. Not only is he contributing absolutely zip, but his overall demeanour and body language is terrible. With Torres playing like that, we are I'm afraid a fairly ordinary team.

i'm really at a loss over this situation now. after the positive vibes soon after his appointment and a slight sense of optimism i'm now seeing roy hodgson as a man out of his depth and bereft of ideas. his body language all the way through today's match was that of a man that really couldn't work out what to do as his team was taken apart before his eyes. i don't see the team being motivated and i don't see any meaningful tactical plan being developed.

but what to do about it? i fear that if he stays we'll struggle to get any kind of positive run going and that the january transfer window will be a catastrophe. then again if we sack him we are throwing club ethos in the bin and entering a lottery of getting someone decent in, plus we lose a few more million in pay offs.

ok mate point out what i am saying is wrong for me.

The club has a lack of good player from the 16yr olds to the first team

poor players need to be sold off.

another manager will find it hard doing this job as he will still have the same team untill Jan.

Torres is not himself and has not been for a long time.

Your excuse is flawed due to the fact Torres missed most of last season.

And all you have done all day is blame Rafa when infact Roy couldnt lace Rafas boots cause he is totally out of his depth and shouldnt be anywhere near our club !!!

You hounded Rafa out I hope you are happy with his replacement enjoy the championship if this old fool stays around.

while I believe Benitez left behind a krap squad and money squandered, Roy should at the very least have us around the 7th spot we finished last year.

He won't see 2011 in as manager if this continues. I said that we should give him time, but that wasn't based on us being in the bottom 3. The board should tell him that if we aren't in the top half of the table at the end of the calender year that he is fired.
