Yes it's a misrepresentation of what I've been saying Bav and you know it. Fortunately, such desperation is normally a sign that somebody is begining to realise they have been wrong (which you and the posse definately have in your hounding of and disrespect for the manager), so perhaps there is some light over the horizon after all.

I don't think Roy is doing a particularly good job. However, even if he had lost all seven of the the lague matches so far (he lost the first six at Fulham funnily enough) I would still be advocating giving him till the end of the season at least.

You don't sack managers after seven league games if you either got a clue, want success or both. Simple as that really.

Mate the knives were well and truly out before we'd even played a match, so it's hardly a big revelation to say that if Everton beat us the posse will be putting the boot in  .

wonder how the long the new manager would get, at this rate wed have gone through 5 in a season

If Roy does go, the next manager will get longer than this one did (he could hardly get shorter ).Those who have slagged him and disrespected him probably know by now that they've let themselves down big time, and they'd be keen to atone for that I think.

Hiring and firing managers after a short time though is the road to ruin. It's an extremely well trodden path.

Well he can't do any worse than Roy has done so far. Remember that line mick?

I do Bav and I also remember the context of it, which you obviously don't. This is the second or third time it's been referred to now, so perhaps the best thing is to dig it out so we can all judge who was talking sh!t and who wasn't.

Just a couple of points though.

Firstly, if we were top of the league after seven matches and I offered it as conclusive proof that Roy was doing better than Rafa, you'd say "it's only seven matches FFS". You'd be right too.

Secondly, any reference to how well any manager would do with the squad at any time obviously pre-supposes that the manager has the same group of players, the same opportunites. Much like Benitez has the same group of players as his predessessor at Milan if you need an example.

So to conclude, I would be disappointed come the end of the season if we aren't higher than seventh. If we are worse than seventh, I would take a lot of convincing that Roy is the right man for the job.

If he isn't, then we must move on. No point in flogging a dead horse and denying the sky is blue for eternity, we've done that far too much as a club and as a fanbase already.

Yes and no I think. It is true to say and I agree that pretty much everywhere he's been with the exception of Blackburn he's been a huge success, but yes while it's true to point out that he has been poached for better jobs many times, I wouldn't necessarily take it as categoric proof of success.

If your still rooted at the bottom of the table come christmas then surely the clubs survival in the premiership is at stake..
Rather sort it out soon before more damage is done.

I'd give roy until december and see how he does if were still in the bottom 3 then we need a manger that could take us out of that mess.

Roy lost his first 10 at Fulham. Not 6 like BM has said, anyway Roys the last thing on my mind at the minute as soon as we are taken over I really hope by Sheikh Mo then its tatty bye Roy.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

How do you know that? Now you are just putting words in my mouth, hypothetical words at that.

I think we both no Roy was never earmarked for a long terms role here, especially 5 years. He was brought in as a short term solution to 'bring the squad together' and 'steady the ship'. If anything we have gone backwards under him. And to add insult to injury we are in the relegation zone and under Everton ffs.

Nanny was bang on when she said fans wont tolerate mediocrity and why should we? After all it wasn't that long ago that we finished 2nd in the league and were one of the best teams in Europe. Sorry but the situation right now is so bad that I think the best thing to do is remove him if he doesn't get x points over the next few games. Thing is who do we bring in now mid season. I don't really fancy MON so maybe someone continental.

Your quite wrong of course ,and I suspect deep down you know it ...."the locker is bare Michael " and it never contained the qualities we needed to ward off being truly abysmal ...because this argument of yours would be slightly more valid if you had some trait of the managers that you could push forward to promote your wild claims about giving him time .... I like comedians because they rarely if ever attempt to manage a football club .... so with that in mind should a manager try his hand at stand up  ? if your answer is no ....then why is ours ? ....because he currently has an audience of millions of rival fans who he is keeping royally entertained ,and they our literally praying for an encore
