ROY HODGSON - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Can't believe iv'e just read the last two pages of this thread, can't believe there are people questioning Karen, and what she has to say on what the "Great Man" would think of his beloved club in such a state, and then question whether or not her views were valid in, it's beyond me.

I had the privelage of meeting the "Man" once, it was like a personal audience with the Almighty, for five minutes i hung on his every word, if you're naive enough to think that our present plight wouldn't weigh heavy on him let alone as some people have said send him spinning in his grave, then as the Great Man said, You're a Bloody Nuisance, go and become a Politician............

Why, because that's what some people have become in this thread, a PC Loving, blame the last regime, Internet Political Animal, Pro Rafa, Anti Rafa, Anti Roy, He's the Manager so we must support him clan.

I wasn't Pro Rafa, knew in the Summer he had to go for the sake of the Club, as i've stated before if your the Manager of the Football Club, Manage the Football! Rafa had got to the point where he thought he could take the owner's down from the inside, it ultimately cost him his job!

But All of this doesn't detract from the point that after 157-158 pages of a thread that Roy Hodgson, Sorry, is not the answer.

I have my view, Ciggy has her's, we concur maybe 'cause as she said in another post most of the disdain at the Present Manager is coming from people that have watched us for a long time, i've been watching this team since 1972, doesn't make me an expert, never, ever, professed to be one, but i've had the privelage of watching great team's, poor team's, great manager's, and not so great manager's, I've never seen one as POOR as THIS, as i said in another stream it hasn't taken me three month's to decide he ain't Good Enough, it's there for all to see, all you've got to do is OPEN your eye's!

As a final point, i met "Shank's" as a kid he was prizegiving at the Boxing, I know The Manager we have now is not Good Enough, imagine what a lady like Karen, who spent most of her life with him think's, then think again about commenting, or dissing her thought's, they're backed up by many a Liverpudlian's of our age!

Why post it here if it had nothing to do with the manger?

Please dont twist my words.
"scraping the barrel" was aimed at ciggy who is using shanklys grandaughter to attack the manger.
Spin it any way you like but the emphasis was on ciggys attempt at using someone who is respected, and the grandaughter of the founder of LFC as we know it.
And then, according to you, ciggy went even further and implied that Karen Gill said she wanted Hodgson out, but you tell me she was really talking about the owners. Which is it?
Dont even bother trying to paint me as disrespectful or anti-SOS. THAT is bang out of order. I am right and you know it. And if you wish I will show you the post I am talking about. It is there for anyone to see.

Oh I got the distinct impression it was Karen Gill you were referring to when when you mentioned she was  undermining the manager ...and you asked the question would her Grandad be proud of her ....or were you talking about Ciggys Grandad ?
Do us a favour tell it to the gullible .....

Asked whether Hodgson is the right man to reverse Liverpool's fortunes, Zamora said: "Definitely. It's early days and there's no way on earth Liverpool or Everton should be anywhere near there and I'm sure both teams will be well up the league come the end [of the season].

"His organisational skills are what he's about, making players play as a team. He's mastered that and you've seen that with us in the last couple of years. He's good at his man-management and getting the best out of players and I am sure he will do well there."

Liverpool supporters are agitating for revolution, but when blood eventually spills onto the boardroom floor, would it not be sensible to have someone as humble as Hodgson there to selflessly mop it all up? After all, Liverpool's current predicament is hardly his fault alone; while Hicks and Gillett remain in situ, arrested development will be the norm. Reds fans recognise as much, so why are searching questions being asked of his credentials to manage at this level? He has only been given seven league games after all.

First and foremost, results have been abysmal. If winning only one Premier League game was not enough, a Carling Cup defeat to Northampton, and at Anfield no less, was unforgiveable. Whatever the financial restrictions in place, Hodgson has the squad at his disposal to do much better. He appears to be struggling to find the right shape for his side - with players being used out of position - and has singularly failed to coax any good performances out of a knackered Fernando Torres. The extent to which the club's current malaise is of his own making, or the legacy of mismanagement by the previous regime and the current owners, is subject to intense debate, and could ultimately decide his future.

Where Do We Go From Here?

When the club is in free fall we hire the manager voted by other managers as the best manager last season. We give him 7 league games to turn around a sinking ship??

I'm amazed you feel this is the thread to make your only post of the day when last night and this morning's activities are the most instrumental in the future of LFC..... :D

This thread is about Roy.

Your yawning picture to indicate you are bored is lazy, if you keep making the same silly points then the same reply will expose your impatience.

I was just referring to the fact that the most important story of the day, week, year, that is unfurling today has little interest for you whatsoever but banging on about 7 games, seems to be the only thing that holds your attention ....

to be fair this thread is about Roy, the talkover thread has its own weight, but as amod you cant be condeming someone for posting in the 'correct' thread can you?

For what its worth I really hope the new owner gives Roy a chance. Most think hes the wrong choice, but hes been treated like sh!t by the fans and we should give him time to proove he can do it.. inmy opinion.

Of course at the moment all any Liverpool fan is thinking about is getting the two kunts out and getting this new guy in as that would be awesome and make up for the disastrous start to the latest campaign

you missed my point Daws.......Big Niall spends his day banging on and on about the same thing daily. After the events of the last 24 hours and what it means for the clubs future I noticed that just about everyone who has been logged on for the last 14 hours or so have been monitoring and responding in the takeover thread....Big Niall has shown a complete dis-interest in the whole affair...One can only assume he couldn't careless ......getting back to Roy...I believe he will still be here after all the dust and the smoke has cleared from the air and his position may be reviewed in the new year by the owners if the club is in a particularly precarious position  :)

We're allwoed to have different priorities, as long as we get this new owner hopefully we'll all stop swearing at each other for 2 minutes

If the takeover goes through and Hodgson stays on then he has a fantastic opportunity to ride the wave of expectations and he has to improve massively from what we have seen so far and it has to be quick or they will replace him - this is his chance now and he must take it . Once this takeover has been done the focus will be back on him and it will be all up to him . I really don't think he can take us to the top level and I think he will be gone in the summer .
