You think Blackpool can beat us? Blackburn? Bolton?

Everton have played well this season and they went above us today won 2-0 and that sent us into the relegation zone.  Blackburn and fat Sam are kunts, Bolton are playing well and we dont stand a chance against Chelsea Im afraid if we continue with these tactics and invite the pressure onto us over 90 minutes.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

REST IN PEACE PHIL, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

Benny is just a c*nt, ignore him. Hes obviosuly on the wind up, or is just retarded, or possibly both.

Hed rather use a thread saying Neverton are playing better than us, that says it all really. But as usual the klinks will do nothing.. pathetic

Aren't we as Liverpool FC and fans deserve a certain level of 'kwality' in our managers? How is Roy Hodgson any better than Roy Evans, Gerrard Houllier or Rafa Benitez? If those managers were not good enough, then what makes Roy Hodgson good enough? At least the fans should be able to believe that this manager has quality and therefore should be given time. I would be alot more optimistic if Kenny Dalglish was appointed. The circumstances are bad enough as it is. Roy has so far not shown any reasons for me to be optimistic. I hope I'm wrong...

Not a wind up it was a serious question - what makes you think we will beat those teams when you consider how poor our performances have been so far this season . Could understand if we were playing well but results weren't reflecting performances but at the moment they are - we also might be missing Gerrard through injury and currently have no left back fit .

Dawson Everton beat Birmingham at home where they haven't lost in a year while we got lucky to get a point . Any chance you could stick to football instead of insulting me .

I'll repeat, possibly after all of your sh!t posts... f*ck off.

You would rather use a Roy thread to talk up Everton than Liverpool, that really says it all

Liverpool Echo 2/10/2010

IN the world of modern football, where heroes can turn to zeroes inside 90 minutes, there is no room for pragmatism or realism.

Success must achieved in the blink of an eye and those who once embodied the virtues of patience suddenly find themselves throwing reason out of the window the moment it looks as if a team is running into a period of turbulence. That, sadly, is the way.

Which brings us to Liverpool. The clocks have not gone back yet but already there is a restlessness amongst the masses and frustration is mounting in certain quarters that the Roy Hodgson era has started, to put it mildly, in underwhelming fashion.

The past two weeks have not, been what you could remotely describe as enjoyable; losing at Old Trafford was bad enough but to throw in draws with Sunderland and FC Utrecht alongside a catastrophic Carling Cup exit against Northampton and you see why so many are vexed.

When you then mix in some of the curious statements he has made after games – such as not having too many expectations at Birmingham and failing to take Alex Ferguson immediately to task – and the picture becomes clearer still.

One of the most significant soundbites he has offered, though, came after last Saturday's 2-2 stalemate with Sunderland, when Hodgson was asked whether he appreciated what might lie in store for the months ahead.
“I know it's a big job,” said Hodgson. “It's not just waving a magic wand and Liverpool will suddenly dominate English football again. The expectations being placed on the team are ones they will find very hard to live up to until they bed in as a team.”

No supporter wants to hear that their team is heading into a period of turbulence and Jamie Carragher's assertion in Utrecht that “we are a work in progress” will have done nothing to assuage those who are currently rattling like a string of worry beads.

But, at this moment in time, it is worth asking a couple of questions – when in the last 20 years have Liverpool changed a manager and seen results immediately go on an upward curve? Or when has the arrival of a new boss brought instant free-flowing football to the table?

In all honesty, you have to say never. Go back to when Roy Evans replaced Graeme Souness in February 1994; while there was delight that Evans had got his big chance, the opening weeks of his tenure were desperate.

Liverpool were woefully out of sorts and defeats which remain fresh in the memory include a drubbing at a Matt Le Tissier-inspired Southampton, Sheffield United coming from behind to win at Anfield and Norwich City ruining the final day of the standing Kop.
The impression at the end of that season was Liverpool were stuck in reverse but, with time and the emergence of several talented young players, Evans fashioned a side that won the League Cup 12 months later and should probably have lifted the Premier League title at some point, too.

His reign in sole-charge ended with a third placed finish in 1998 (Liverpool were 13 points behind eventual champions Arsenal) but when Gerard Houllier came in, he could not inspire the Reds to make the next two steps.

While Houllier took 12 points from his first six matches in charge, it often gets overlooked that Liverpool were embarrassed home and away by Celta Vigo in the UEFA Cup and that campaign included a defeat in the spring of 1999 which still gets talked about now.

With Manchester United coming from behind to beat Juventus in Turin and book a place in the Champions League final, Liverpool lost to Leicester City at Anfield with Ian Marshall scoring in front of a disbelieving, disenchanted Kop.

But, 12 months later, there was a much more positive feel and only defeat at Bradford on the final day prevented Liverpool qualifying for the Champions League; even still Houllier had turned seventh place into a top four spot.

It was a similar story when Rafa Benitez took charge six years ago; Burnley in the FA Cup was his lowest moment and the Champions League victory masked the fact Liverpool dropped a place (to fifth) from where Houllier had left them before they really pushed on.

The problem Hodgson faces, however, is complicated. Should Liverpool fall lower than seventh next May, many will wonder if the club can ever get back to a challenging position and the anger and apathy will rise.

There is no question he has made mistakes in the opening months of his reign yet so, too, did his predecessors – history shows it has to get worse before it can get better but history can also provide a spur to Hodgson.

If he can cope through this period, he will be able to cope with anything.

I think I would concur with the first part of this piece rather than the latter ... because in all the games seen as failures from previous managers there was never a nagging doubt that things wouldn't get any better or indeed our football would remain so stagnant ,there was  always something to give us hope ....even the most pragmatic amongst us  will eventually be forced  to  bite the bullet and accept we have been shown next to nothing from the current manager ..... sorry but its the truth and in the end it may be something we will all have to accept sooner rather than later ..... we our currently languishing two places above bottom place whether its just a cruel set of circumstances that have placed us there is open to question .... However what shouldn't be in question is the managers importance in all this...... he is after all the man who  should be made to account for our abysmal start  ..... and he should be moving heaven and earth to produce something resembling a performance tomorrow .... because already its looking like divine intervention will be needed to propel us back into the top places with City and Spurs already edging away .....

Sorry Roy I understand you are operating in difficult circumstances ,but patience is  a virtue we can ill afford at this time ...results must improve substantially starting with  Tomorrow because our time as a creditable force is ebbing away quickly

So you can't answer with any football related post then - go look at the table , go see the results of the teams we are about to face and it will point to us being below all of them and going to have to work hard to even beat Blackpool .

Well I'm asking why people think we are going to beat them - what football reason is there that we will beat them when you look at the current form . Are we playing better than any of those teams ?
