How the mighty have fallen.
I both loved and despised Rafa for what he achieved and what he eventually did to us. I was unhappiest last season and welcomed the change, hoping that Roy would be the "breath of fresh air" we needed. So far he hasnt, because of many factors, including, as the captain said, the players not taking responsibility.
I am not saying he will succeed, but Im not saying he will fail either. If I am truly honest I will say that maybe I am hoping for too much and may be trying to be too positive in the face of disaster. But I want Roy to succeed so much it hurts. Not because I think the sun shines out of his ar'se, or that I think hes the greatest manager around, or because I am pro Roy/anti-Rafa. We are looking over the precipice here and I am fearful we will tip over. But the answer for me is not to rush into sacking the manager and taking yet another gamble. A cool head is needed in these troubled times and screaming for the managers head will not solve our problems

I have to be honest that's a good post Lad and whilst we are travelling down the honesty route ,I wont make any detours
I fooled myself into thinking Hodgson with his tactics and seminars he conducts all over Europe would truly settle into the role ,and through his many sound bites in the media he came across as an astute wily old football man who spoke and conducted himself intelligently .... but how wrong was I ?
because whilst it might have made for engrossing reading it was totally different when put into practice .... and even at this early juncture I am honest enough to say I was sadly wrong
I openly  admit I was sucked in eyes half shut  amongst all the hype and now I can proclaim my eyes are now wide open
Heres a question that bugs the life out of me mate ...why are we the only club who doesn't raise their game under the guise of "New manager Syndrome " why can every other team be a different proposition when they have a new man at the helm to seemingly impress but we remain stagnant under Roy

I think the answer is and that is a theory i have is that the club needes to get rid of a decade (if not more) of Passive Football Mentality ,the last 3 managers which were here ,which i remember ,be It Houliier ,Evens and Benitez have all depressed all signs of creativity intiative attacking football mentality which was are trademark over the years. Those managers espcially the last one placed so much emphesis on Tactics and seating back waiting to take advanatge of oppertunities we completly lost our identity.

Seems current Manager and Players still believe we can get results by relying on a miracle each and every game by Torres or Gerrard ,seems they are convinced holding back is enough as we will surely get goal by one of our stars ,this passive mentalitiy of course doesn't work and won't work. And it's a huge obstacle to climb and i hoped Roy would be the one to handle the task ,but perhaps he is just more of the same. Look at the real big clubs in England ,you don't see them passivley waiting to strike ,everybody is involved ,CBs ,CM ,Strikers of course in attacking and in Defending ,they control the game they don't outwait the rival and pray on mistakes as we have been doing a decade. Look at ManU (if you can) they have players which aren't better then us Talent wise but the system brings them to attacking and scoring positions time after time ,and it's always somebody else that scores...We are totlly reliant on 2-3 players and that's it. We are passive we are afraid and this is a heritage of so called top managers installed in us.

We need a Fcking exorcist.

Sure i dont post alot but I do try to read as much as possible and sorry if it seems like im singling you out but what you do should be considered spamming.. Helps not one bit that in the last 3 or so pages all you've done on this thread is provide unfounded criticism of the manager and post a sht article that paints a flawed picture of the reality of the situation...

We get it... You dont like Roy... Never did and probably never will regardless of what he does or how the side plays... Get the fck over it because hes now manager and if nothing else deserves a little bit of respect !

Completely agree there Igor. The team Evans had at one point was so gifted an played totally sexy football,  probably the most talented over the the past 20 years but unfortunately they were English and they were spice boys without a manager who could give them discipline. I hate to say but If Alex Ferguson would of had that group of players he would of got champions out of them.

I hate to say it but if Ferguson had the squad we have today, he would have made champions out of them.. Our problem is as much a mentality problem as it is anything else... And so far Roy hasnt succeeded in getting the most out of the players he has at his disposal.. Hopefully we do better at that front sometime soon because most of our players (especially the backline) seem short on confidence at the moment ..

The reason Roy is here is because of our scouse duo wanting an english manager hope they are happy with the choice.

100% agree,

what is this we need English to put respect back into the club so that Alex Ferguson and his @rse lickers can like the manager of our club, only because the manager before (Rafa)stood up to Mr Ferguson on countless occasions without trying to find alias to back him up, the only one that has really got under whisky noses skin, so we find a friend of fergie in Hodgson who won't stand up for our star player making him now question what the hell he is still doing playing for this man

100% agree,

The truth is actually nothing to do with Arl p!ssy kecks rather Carragher being offered a 1 year contract from Rafa, remember last season he threw a wobbler and said he will leave and even go to Bolton.

What Terry & Lampard had at Chelsea the same thing happened at Liverpool and even though I idolise Gerrard they do have a say in what goes on at the club.

And the Gerrard, Torres divorce tells a story of its own...............................

Anyway.

Me mum was saying earlier that all the letters in the Echo tonight wanted Roy & Sammy out.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

agreed, at the moment nando appears to have his head off the pitch.
when he set up the equaliser against sunderland and stevie rammed it in he looked right pi$$ed off when stevie attacked the camera.he just strolled back to the centre circle and was probably wondering why we were so happy to draw level with rubbish opposition.

i dont reckon he will be here next season.

And with the club in the present financial predicament and uncertainy I can see no advantage to losing our manager and the team trainer.......

I can,  we have a dinosaur as a manager who is stuck in the ice age and is quite clearly out of his depth. We need a manager to lift the spirits up of the players and i bet a certain Kenny Daglish would do it and wouldn't ask for much of a wage to do it

Kenny would lift the spirits but there would still be an air of stink around the club that won't clear until we know what is going on with the ownership. Could he convince Torres to hang on at least until the summer? Probably.

And now the Pepe talk is starting up again.
