It's September, and what odds would have been given for a game against Blackpool for being as critical as what it's now turned out to be. Fail to win against them, and no one should have any complaints of the criticism that will undoubtedly follow. 3. The teams we have had to play at the start of this season is no excuse. It wouldn't have been for the previous manager, and it's certainly not for this one. 4. If you're a top four side and a so called top manager, you take these challenges as they come. Failing them raises question marks.

1. That's assuming we continue to play exactly the same for the next six months. An unlikely scenario I think, but as it suits your doom and gloom mentality I'm not surprised you choose to assume it. If we didn't improve at all, I agree Roy will be gone at the end of the season. We would probably get relegated as well. Fortunately, I think it is unlikely.

2. The odds against Blackpool at home in game seven being vital would have been tiny. The odds that we would have been looking for our second win of the season would have been higher, but not as high as you and some others would like to make out. We didn't beat any of Arsenal Home, Man Utd away or Man City away last season either (infact we have a poor record in all three games) so failing to win them was no surprise really. Equally, Birmingham away is a fixture that nobody else has managed to win for a year, so no real shock there. WBA Home was a gimme and we won it (which is more than you can say for Arsenal), while Sunderland Home was tricky and we didn't.

3. An utterly ridiculous statement. Doesn't even warrant an answer.

4. We aren't a top four side, we're a top seven side who's got dreams and aspirations of becoming a top four side.

Other than that, good post.

You can slice it, dice it, talk bollox all day on it all you like, but my post was nothing but reality. Truth hurts some people.

Could just as easily say maybe some are desperate not to concede they were wrong all along.

It makes absolutely no difference whatsoever how Roy performs Bav, Benitez had to go. The players didn't want to play for him anymore, and it's something you drum bangers and candle holders can't seem to appreciate.

Obviously this is why you and the posse are so keen to run Roy out of town as you think it provides some vindication for your stance opn the previous manager. It doesn't.

I repeat, if Roy fails it doesn't mean we were wrong to get rid of Rafa, not in a million years.

But where is the guranteed 100 % proff that Rafa had lost the plot and the players didn't wanna play for him??
Where are the qoutes?

Nothing but heresay and **** like that.

The fact is Rafa is the 1st manager since King Kenny that made med pround to be a red and put us back with the big boys on a regular basis.

We had never reached a semi final in the CL when Rafa came and in 6 years we got there 3 times where 2 where finals.
We racked up record point totals and came as close to the title as we have ever been since 1990.

Before Rafa came winning the Uefa cup was a big achievement. At the end of Rafa's reign it was a huge failure to be in the Uefa cup or not reaching the 2nd round of the CL, which was the norm before he arrived!

He made some poor decision in his 6th season, but for that season he had done a fantastic job with the resources he had had compared to his rivals.

In the end it was an impossible job, not cause of Rafa but cause of the **** surrounding the club!

And I claim no manager will get anywhere as long as the situation won't change.

I dont know.
Gerrard Houllier made me proud in 2001 standing here in the welsh sunshine with all the arsenal players and fans gutted.
Not to take anything away from Benitez's success but he was on the slide after the 2007 CL final.

We all would have backed a better manager had he had been employed by the board, was Rafas time up? Probably should someone better have came in? Most defenatly. But most of us knew once they got rid of Rafa someone better than him was not coming in, so it was better to have kept him than a mediocre one we currently have.

It has nothing to do with Rafa or being proved right or wrong I base my opinion on Roys 35 years of management that has been pretty much unsuccessfull.

We where told this breath of fresh air was going to come in and turn our fortunes around, where is it? Because what I and others are seeing is absolute dross on the pitch.

"The shackles will come off with good old uncle Roy" was another thing that was thrown down our throats really? 10 men behind the ball and letting the oppo have all the possesion and shots on target, if this is the shackles being taken off I cant wait to see them on  :glare:

"Arm around the shoulder" Agger's now back up to paul Konchesky repeat them words to yourself Daniel Agger best central defender is back up to a 30 year old journey man whos always injured and he is not to happy about it never mind hey he's always got Roys shoulder for comfort.

"Steady the ship" we are sinking faster than the titanic and our league position is 15th, knocked out of the Carling Cup by a bunch of painters & decorators.

"He's English" So fuckin what? does that guarentee does it sh!te. If only England would have got knocked out earlier he would have been Englands manager instead of ours.

"The media like him" So? Whats your point? We want success on the pitch and dont give two shites if the media like us or not.

We better beat Blackpool on sunday and the bitters and if we dont he should hand in his resignation if he doesnt have ambitions along with the board it doesnt mean to say the fans dont.

Good post Girl ....for me personally I think he went down in my estimation with his ill conceived comments on the demonstration and how he considered this a hindrance ... it simply spoke volumes for how out of touch he was with the common fan ...
and although he backtracked on his earlier statement the damage was already done, and regrettably for me the healing process will be slow .... I still want him to be a success with regards to the team and I like any fan want Liverpool to flourish and to win our place back at the very pinnacle of European football ..... but the trust I had in him with regards to our cause  has disappeared  as quickly as the indecent haste his ill timed  comments were glossed over ....sorry but its the way I feel ..and I think other Liverpool Fans who realize the importance of what SOS are doing in their crusade to rid us of heinous owners would be honest enough to say they feel the same .....some things are more than just regrettable when broadcast to a world wide media .....

Can't really argue with that. I think after say 4 or 5 more games we should get a poll set up asking if people still think appointing Roy was the right thing to do. I have a sneaky suspicion that a few more people who were previously pro Roy will now be thinking on the other side of the fence.

If anything we seem to have gone backwards under him, based on what we have seen so far.

It makes no sense to appoint a manger who finished 12th in the league but got to the final of the Europa league but got beat by the same team that knocked us out, our ex manager finished 7th and got us to the semi final.

Please tell me why this makes sense because I cannot get my head around it, it was one game more that Fulham nor Roy did not win.

On what merits did he get the job ?

Seriously mate, you and anyone from SOS whos still going on about his comments need to let it go.
The protest went well, was highly publicised and got the message over about how Liverpool fans feel about the owners.
Do you not think youre slightly over-reacting?

When you put it like that it seems all the more baffling, and only re affirms my suspicion that he is a yes man. He is pretty old so the chance to manage a big club was probably too good to resist. At the very least he will get a pay off in the summer and he can go back to Blackburn or wherever.

No half decent manager was ever going to say yes to us after the way Rafa was treated so the only option was go for someone who's nearing the end of his career and has nothing to lose.
