What Im saying is, ok he hasnt got them playing the way we want them to yet. Im not stupid, I can see with my own eyes whats happening on the pitch. But the captain agrees with me. The players need to pull their finger out and the manager needs a bit of time to turn things around. People wanted Roy to change things over night. "The wand factor" I call it. Because of our poor start theyre stating hes not good enough as a fact. Any manager, and I mean ANY manager taking over this club, this season, would have struggled with the state we have been left in.
There is absolutely no point in constantly screaming for the managers head after each game we lose or draw. Its insane and unrealistic. It also heightens the negativity and makes people more nervous and agitated.
Have some faith. It can be argued that we dropped two points yesterday, but we came from behind, gained a point and moved up the table

There is a difference between expecting miracles in a few days and not seeing any positives at all in any of our games. No I dont expect us to win every game 5-0 but quite frankly we are playing a lot worse than we did in the last season. They way we just drop deep and let teams like sunderland dominate possession at anfield is terrible to watch. If we lost while actually making an effort at winning you would not see as many negative posts here.

Thats my point "not seeing any positives" a sweeping and untrue statement if ever Ive seen one.
Tell me truthfully, hand on heart that you havent seen ANY positives this season
Take your time.

Considering how bad last season was, this season we actually play worse in all areas of the pitch. No I dont see the positive in this.

No positives whatsoever?
You are either a liar or a fantasist who want everything to change overnight and be perfect.
What about Cole or Miereles?
What about scoring 2 against the skanks?
What about progressing in europe?
What about the bitters being bottom?

Cole and meireles hasnt really impressed yet and are another two players that prefers to play in Gerrards position. Yes they probably can be good players but are played out of position and break up our most successfull attacking partnership.

Who cares if we scored two when we sucked and lost.

Progressing against pubteams in europe? Great.

Yes the bitters beeing bottom is great but its not got anything to do with this club.

people leave in droves because of all the baiting and flame wars, there used to be constructive debate, now its just insults. Look at last Sunday ffs, In And Out logged in clearly p*ssed off his face and proceeded to lay insults at anyone he didnt like. We played our biggest rivals and he logs on to dish out abuse rather than comment on the biggest game of the season, and thats it n a nutshell: personal vendettas is why this place has fallen apart mate, not because of football matters

the club is a mess, but i am waiting for ONE positive remark about our new boss, which we'll never get

What really ruins this forum is the constant bickering and moaning about other posters. Benny might be overly negative but if this forum could be spared of the 100 posts a day pointing it out you would not notice as much.

Buying Cole and Meireles was great - Cole is showing glimpses of being effective and so is Merieles but he needs to be played in his best position . The results is Europe are against Championship standard clubs and the wins should breed a little confidence to the prem games but they don't . So far I'm not seeing any positives from our start and the start of Hodgsons reign - next weekend is the game to change that .

I think the next 2 games are now vital for us myself

If Benitez couldnt motivate this group and Hodgson is also finding it hard to get a tune out of them then the assumption is that the players simply arent good enough. Seems to me there is such a darkness and negativity around the whole club and until the ownership issue is sorted we should just try and sit back and not fly off the handle when we dont do as well as we hope. Looks like any progress we can produce will be slow and certainly isnt moving forward at present thats for sure. Biggest problem is at the back, we are all over the shop there and unless thats tightended up we are going to struggle ever week.

They are only going to be 'good enough' when we start spending some serious money. Not bringing in freebies and paying :censored: wages with a 1 in 1 out policy. Unfortunatley everything hinges on the ownership situation so we will just have to struggle on till then.

Can't see him staying on here past this season though. Back to a smaller club after this probably.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

It looks to me that both the players and the manager are caught up in the stress of the owners countdown situation. Looking all every photo of Woy he's in anguish, either he cant cope, or he's finding his players cant cope however we've got to get past the october 15th deadline so these lads can relax and start afresh.

The job is FAR greater than Woy expected and I'd say he's going through héll. I just hope we can draw a line under it once we know - whichever way it goes - what the future holds.

While I've made no secret of my belief that many fans on here have let themselves down with their lack of respect for our manager, it's also true to say that there's no point in talking about "positives" if we can't win football matches.

My beef all along is that none of us know for sure one way or the other whether or not Roy is going to make a success of things, so we might as well get behind him and support him until we find out. Judging any manager ("he's obviously out of his depth" and other such nonsense) before October has even started is utterly ridiculous, although observations about his tactical approach and substitutions are more than fair enough. Similarly, criticising him because he doesn't jump around enough is daft, as is having a pop because he doesn't do interviews with his SOS tee shirt on.

All in all we've had an exceptionally difficult start (even yesterdays game was no gimme by any stretch) but so far we obviously aren't playing well. We are going to need to play better, and we're going to need to do it fairly soon if we are to maintain any hopes of a top four slot. I remain convinced however that we have a much better chance of doing that if the fans get behind the team and manager. Booing at matches, singing Rafa songs at matches, flooding forums with ani-Roy rhetoric etc etc isn't helping anyone.

As a footnote, all this Woy stuff ("it's just harmless fun, chill out") has been shown up for what it always was, an attempt to belittle the manager. Because it went on and got accepted, we now have the "owl" stuff, the "head in the hands" stuff and all the other nonsense. I still can't past the irony that these same people positively jumped upon anyone who even thought bad thought about the previous manager. Their hypocracy is positively unbelieveable.

Give the manager a good go is what I say, then if he isn't up to it we can move on at least with a semblence of unity for a change.

Hes got my backing, hes the boss and I want him to succeed but, and I hate to bang on about the same thing time and again, if he doesnt ditch these negative deep lying, low pressure tactics that opposition sides are eating up (its not even debatable now even after so few games) and we continue to drop points and fall further behind that holy grail 4th place position then I dont think he'll deserve to be given my support if he cant adapt his archaic approach when even a deluded part timer like myself and countless others on this forum and all around the world can see that it clearly is the wrong way for this group of players to set up. We have so many guys that love to put a shift in, Kuyt, Torres, Gerrard and even Lucas are known for their athleticism as much as their ability so let these guys work high up the pitch, harrassing the opposition every step they make, forcing them into mistakes and pretty much laying siege in the opposition half rather than sitting 20yds behind an isloated front man and hopng to draw the opposition out so we can counter attack them, even though we have no pace in the flanks and not really enough great passers in midfield to play that killer through ball. This isnt Serie A ffs!
