You are all major hypocrits, a bad word couldnt be said about our last manager and to be honest that's fair enough.
How about giving the new one some respect and support ?

He has openly stated when he arrived that the owners need to go.
What do you want him to do ? Say it in every interview ?
I agree his comments yesterday could have been chosen better but dont for one minute think that he is happy with the ownership situation.

The people that are not behind him are trying to attempt to use this as a reason to get on his back and put more pressure on him.

Absolute feckin joke

Good post Ben, and I put the bit in bold because that's exactly how I feel as well. Some of the behaviour of our fans on the forums has been quite staggering, shocking to be honest.

I can't help thinking that unless Roy does succeed and gives them all achance to take back some of the abuse and ridicule they've heaped upon him, the self esteem of the fan base may never recover.

I must admit from my perspective I was always quite snooty about the way Liverpool fans appreciated ex-players, clapped opponents, respected other teams and the like. I thought we were different, I laughed at the Mancs with their complete lack of class, grinned at Chelsea with their plastic flags and lack of history. Despite our fall from grace on the pitch, I revelled in our dignity, at the fact we were revered by football fans accross the globe. Maybe not the best team in the land any more, but definately the best fans.

It saddens me because we haven't even got that anymore, or at best are in severe danger of losing it. Roy Hodgson is walking through something of a storm right now, and I'll bet he feels pretty alone lets put it that way.

The start we have had hasnt been by any means good enough.
But the people that are most critical of it are the ones that if we had had the exact same start but Rafa was still here would be defending it.
Stating the fixtures and the owners are to blame.

But what we get now is that the manager is out of his depth  :no

As Ive said before I toally understand some peoples frustration, anger, fear, biterness etc. But to concentrate their bile on the manager of the club they claim to support flies in the face of what I see as the thing that makes us unique.
I too laughed at the bitters, scoffed at the mancs and  dismissed the cockneys for their boorish, ignorant behaviour. We were the kings, royalty of the football world on and off the pitch. Recognised all over the world for our knowledge and classy behaviour. Loyal, staunch, united and protective of LFC, the original "peoples club". It sickens me to see how we have evolved fan-wise. Mocking, sneering, abusive, ignorant and hateful. Not to rivals, opponents or enemies. To our own Manager.
How these people can even think about YNWA never mind sing it is beyond me

And he may be out of his depth for all we know, they may be right. The point is though that you can't tell after five league matches one way or another.

Man Utd fans probably thought Ferguson was out of HIS depth, Everton fans definately thought Howerd Kendall was out of his. You simply cannot make a call on a manager after a month of the season, it's patently ridiculous.

Why people can't just give him a shot I'm fecked if I know. Sure if he bombs out, come back and say "I never wanted him in the first place" and we'll all know it's true. He wasn't my first choice either (he was third behind Mourinho and Martin O' Neill), but now he's got the job I'm still confident he can do well if given the chance. If I'm wrong though, so the feck what.

Someone said to me yesterday I wanted to be proven right about Benitez. What a load of b0ll0cks. I fully supported him for four seasons, then lost faith. Eventually he left, but eventually ALL managers leave, how the feck was I right? If I was right in the end I was wrong for four years, and vica versa.

Unless the fans gfive Roy a chance then we'll never know who was "right", because it wouldn't make any difference if he was the best manager in the world he can't succeed without fan backing. And don't even bother with the "but he does get backing inside the ground". No he doesn't, and everywhere outside the ground and on the internet and phone ins the bloke is getting slaughtered. After five matches, what a joke.

I agree with you mick.
I have reservations myself after what i have seen so far. They are just reservations though. I am definitely willing to give him a chance.
I went the match the other night and it was dire. I was shocked that he didnt bring on a sub until the end of the 90 minutes and think it was the wrong decision.
But he will make mistakes. All managers do. Hopefully he will learn from them.

It genuinely doesnt matter what Rafa achieved in his time at the club or whether anyone things he should be here or not.
He has moved on, appears to be doing well enough and we have a new manager.
He speaks funny and may look like an owl but he is our manager and deserves a break and the support of the fans.

If I tell ten people the managers sh'ite and wasnt up to the job and shouldnt have got it in the first place (but I dont want him sacked) and they each tell ten people the same thing, then 100 people will be saying the same thing. Multiply it by ten each time and you get my drift. Democracy and freedom of speech is a fantastic thing. But it has its price. Especially when people have an agenda and use emotive words and phrases to get their message across. (see politicians)
I honestly think these people genuinly dont understand what damage theyre doing as theyre so wrapped up in their "right to their opinion". If enough people get on board with disrespecting the manager then his position will become untenable and we are fu'cked.
Theres a fine line in criticising and undermining.
If Roy doesnt succeed they will be right but the price we all will have to pay will be far beyond their limited imagination.

In fairness Igor you've been very sensible since Roy has been manager IMHO. I don't think for one minute you think he was the ideal choice, but at least you aren't leaping on his every word.

His statement yesterday was feck all mate really, those who are massively offended by it should toughen the feck up if you ask me.

Toughen the feck up . Well Roy should have kept his trap shut . This is the first protest we've had while he's been here and the day before it happens he comes out with such a statement . If he wants the owners gone and he's said as much , he needs to do a little research on the matter before spouting nonsense . We need every fecker on board for this and i'm not expecting him to say SOS are ace lets get behind them . He should have said nowt .

What nonsense has he spouted ?

He could have chosen his words more carefully. But at the end of the day protests and the like could have a negative impact.
Someone on the last page has quoted the messiah saying something similar last season.

He (Roy) has already stated he wants the owners out.

He said the protests arnt helping, but there hasnt been no protests since he arrived. It was the "That group of people" that has got peoples backs up, they are Liverpool fans not a group of people. Its not just SOS that are doing things now other splinter groups have popped up but they all MUST work together as they all only want one thing. Divide and conquer is not the way forward.

SOS released a statement yesterday and backed him, if the yanks are gone he will be helped in the transfer window if we got someone in with money.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

That's why i said it could have been worded better.

But i dont think there is any doubt that he is in agreeance that the owners need to be removed asap.

Has anyone seen or got a link to the interview? I've only heard the quotes, with some assumptions made by the Mirror - I'd like to watch what he says myself.

It's like the Purslow interview - a lot of it reads well on paper but if you actually watch he doesn't come across as believable.

The  manager

I actually kinda like this interview. It's about time Roy start showing some attitude. Feck the media Roy, we're all behind you... even though on the pitch you still need to prove you're the right choice...
