I thought the same about your idiotic mongish reply to Roy looking like an owl, well Rafa resembled a clueless clown for many-a game last season.

What gets me on this forum is people slaggin Roy off already. You are all managers , know and can do better. Know how the players mentality is, and know exactly how they feel, he inherited an heap of :censored: player wise and needs to cut the whaet from chaff but you're on his back. Northampton was a disaster, nobody including me will deny that it was a nightmare player wise and manager wise, but everyone is on his back for the simplest things.

I bet pound to a :censored: penny that half of you didn't cause such an uproar in 2006-2007 when we laboured to draw at Bramall Lane, struggled like :censored: against Everton losing 3-0, losing to Chelsea in a laboured lacklustre game where we created jack, got hammered 6-3 by Arsenal.

Didn't King Kenny give the board the go ahead to appoint Roy?. Are you going to slate King Kenny?.

Get behind the man and stop living on the past half of you :censored: seem to be hung onto Rafa, LET GO.

That pic looks nothing like Rafa lets be honest Rafa was hardly scruffy was he?  Roy does look like an owl.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Thats a can of worms, what would Benitez, Lucas, Kuyt etc think of they came on here!?

That 75% of our fanbase are highly neurotic.

Or where correct that he shouldnt have been made our manager in the first place?

Why not?

Maybe Roy feels the same.

Not to deminish the point you're making, but it can be argued that the difference in the situation between then and now is more critical. There's no doubt a protest is a distraction to the players, but it's now a necessary evil in the current light of things, and to be critical in any way towards it is to make light of what the supporters are trying to achieve here. This needs to be done. Now.

He wasn't making light of what the fans are trying to achieve, though. He was simply saying that this kind of thing doesn't help in his quest to improve the fortunes of the team. He wants the team to do well, he wants to see new owners come in. There are no conflicting aims here.

Yes, but when you make it clear one week that you want new owners, and then come out and say that a protest to get the owners out isn't a good thing for the team, then you come up sounding like someone who's out of touch with what's really going on inside and outside the club. Roy could have said that he didn't care what the fans did so long as he was concentrating on the footballing issues.

"It" - the continuing uncertainty over the ownership of the club - as manifested in fans' protests - can't be helpful for the man charged with trying to lift the team's performances. Does anyone seriously think he doesn't want a swift resolution to the ownership situation? Does anybody seriously think he's anti-SOS? Of course he does, and on the second part, it simply isn't his domain; he's a football man, not a politician. He's concerned with the broad point that carries significance so far as his job his concerned and that is that there is a successful resolution to the ownership situation. But people will read whatever they want to read and if it accords with a pre-existing view, bingo. It was the same with Rafa toward the end of his reign when he was accused of trying to discourage SOS from protesting at a game in order to ensure his contract negotiations ran smoothly.

:nod  :nod

The most worrying thing about this for me is the reaction of so many die-hard fans.

People can't wait to misconstrue a comment and beat the c'rap out fo him for it. He looks stressed to f'uck every time I see him and with fans and media pressure that's not likely to change anytime soon. I can't see how another change of manager is going to help our situation. There is no way Kenny will be able to handle this sort of pressure either.

In short Roy's f'ucked.

Then he would be accused of "not caring" about the fans or for the "real issues at the club" or some other such nonsense that we all know isn't true. Bottom line: he said what he said and at best it was a tad naive - and if it was, nay bother, because we're a forgiving bunch aren't we.
