That's the way I feel about him to be honest. Brilliant player and under-rated as so many defensive midfielders are. Best midfield tackler in the world.

Indeed. A big loss for the club.

He didn't handle his departure with class, but when he did play for us, he gave his all. Good luck Masch!

I'm filling up here! What a load of utter fkg tosh. He was a selfish little s.hit who never showed one ounce of gratitude for being rescued from West Ham reserves. Did a professional job as you would expect given the money he was earning. Won't be missed in the same way as Alonso. Only ever capable of wrecking games and very little else.

Not the way it should have ended, but Masch was still a very good player for us most of the time and as such will be missed - especially in the big games. I am however hoping Poulsen and Meireles will contribute with more going forward, seing as Masch contributed close to zero on that front. Time will tell I guess.

Adios Javier.

Always liked Mascherano as a player, always gave 110% and was good at what he did.

Didn't particularly like him as a person.  The way he has conducted himself in trying to push the Barce deal through was disrespectful to Liverpool FC (given LFC and Benitez basically resurrected his career) and the game at Old Trafford where we lost and he got sent off gave a glimpse of his personality for me - put himself before the team that day, couldn't keep his mouth shut and pretty mush lost us the game.

I've said it before, if someone doesn't want to wear our shirt, then I don't want them to wear it either.  Cheerio Javier, you'll struggle to make 20 appearances this season in that Barce team.

don't know about that. he's a far better player than busquets. they'll probably just push iniesta onto the left on a front three.

I agree, he is a much better player than Busquets.  But Busquets is home grown and the fans there love him.  Watch and see...
