Poulsen looks good.  He can pass a ball better than Masch or Lucas.

With the Aqua news though... im surprised that we now have 3 DM's and Stevie.

..what if someone comes with a bid for Masch before 31st or he gets injured eh?  :eyebrow Who would you rather prefer - Poulsen or good old Lucas ?

Even if Masch stays and stays fit. We have BPL, CC, FA Cup and Europa to deal with.

Some of his passes were dire but he made some good ones too.  And he was far from fit.

Very rarely see Lucas pass a ball forward.

Word for Word agree.
Considering he's only played 1 game, I think some on here are way to harsh in critisising him.

Also He scored a goal that should have stood. Its not too often you would see Mascherano in the opponents box like that. Plus his defensive side of the game was tough & accurate.

Hopefuly with time and being injury free, he can compliment the team with his style of play.

true.
its important to have depth and to prepare for such scenarios where a player leaves towards to end of the transfer window.
its common sense.

Poulsen IMO last night provided us with nothing that we don't already have - he looked no better than Lucas and his passing was awful last night and his tackling bar one was late and lazy , he did get forward a few times and was unlucky wih the disallowed goal but he is no better than Lucas IMO and I believe if Aquilani does go our midfield is very imbalances and if Masher does go then our midfield is not good enough and certainly not creative enough . Hoping he does get better with games  but at the moment i certainly don't want to see him starting a prem game - the game will pass him by .

Let me translate this post with more common sense approach . Hope Benny learns something -

"Poulsen IMO last night provided us with something that we don't already have - a solid cover for Masch. He looked better than Lucas and his passing was tidy  last night once he settled after first few minutes and his tackling bar one was neat and accurate , he did get forward a few times and was unlucky with the disallowed goal. He is much better than Lucas IMO and I believe even if Aquilani go, our midfield will require Poulsen for balance and if Masher does go then our midfield will not be good enough and certainly not strong enough to handle our strong and physical league. Hoping he does get better and better with more games  and at the moment i certainly want to see him starting a prem game in the absence of Masch - he certainly won't let the game pass him by ."

He did seem way off the pace but I put that down to a poor pre season.

What the heck?? What game were you watching  :D

Lucas was sh!te, Poulson was good.

His passing was good, what makes you say it was awful? I only recall him having two misplaced passes and they were forward balls at least.

You say if Mascha goes our midfield wont be creative enough?? Yeah because mascherano is realllly creative isnt he
