Eh, when would that have been if you don't mind me askin' ?

Lightweight ...there you go again with the comedy ... and I thought you just drove taxi's .........you kidder you

maybe i've watched a different Lucas who doesn't get kicked off the ball easily.

PabloAimar wrote:yes but do you think ancelloti, ferguson, wenger, mancini, o'neil, redknapp, del bosque, mourinho, etc. etc. would put him in the first 11? i doubt it.
i don't understand how saying benitez and hodgson picking him means he's an amazing player by default. these managers also thought voronin and kevin davies were awesome respectively.
i think lucas' regular inclusion in the starting 11 last season and rafa's justification for it by saying 'the balance is good' while we were losing games to p1ss poor opposition was one of the key reasons we did so badly last season. he's a decent (youngish) player, nothing more. should be used as part of a rotation system and fielded if - and only if - tactically necessary.... not every game. he may get 'stuck in' more than aquilani but aquilani's ball retention and use of it when in possession is light years better so he wouldn't be required to get 'stuck in' as much as lucas is.
against tough opposition:
poulsen lucas
gerrard aquilani cole
torres
that's the only line up there's space for him other than being backup to poulsen sitting behind 2 of gerrard/aquilani/cole in the middle

He is not a bad player but doesnt offer enough to justify a position in such a key area of the pitch.
