Cross your fingers

Didn't we pay six million for him? Feck me, his stock has gone through the roof.  ???

young player of the year didnt you know ?  :wwww

Beat the amazing talents of Emiliano Insua & David N'gog to the honor..

Funny enough, he was also a strong contender imo for "worst player of the year"... go figure !

5 million seems about right for him, wouldnt sell him unless we have someone lined up as a replacement though...

Yes, lets not replace him unless we can procure a 30yr old   box to box midfielder with boundless energy ...then and only then can we think about getting shot of the  player who in Liverpool's earlier games last season  produced the only tackles of any description ....  Failing that try and get to a game  ??? ...you never know it might make all your talk about tactics and formations a tad more credible   ???

Never mind being at a game, a monkey on a bike in the moon talks more sense than you do when it comes to football sir, so your ignorance is excused..

The only thing I appreciate about what Lucas brings to the side is his work ethic... Many aspects of his game are very limited and he's simply not good enough to be playing his natural position at Liverpool... He's good at drifting into spaces, keeping possession (with minimal effective attacking football), and perhaps even closing down around the halfway line... Another thing he's good which i dont think we've ever utilized is his marking... Seems to me like he's a solid and disciplined player tactically and if given a man-marking role could do a job for us... Not sure it warrants us keeping him but i wouldn't mind trying it against decent opposition if the need arises..

However, put him any deeper into a defensive position, and his poor tackling and timing become a liability... Add to that his inability to connect with players who play ahead of him in attacking positions and you have a pretty good picture of what mainly went wrong last season..

For me he has to play a little higher up (if ever)... If we play a holding midfielder with 2 central midfielders then i wouldnt mind him playing there as one of the 2 CMs.. He could get on the end of crosses and perhaps help with the closing down and defensive side of things... Only problem though is that he offers nowhere near enough in other departments to suggest that giving him the role would be a good idea.. We already have Gerrard, Aquilani (and to a lesser extent Shelvey) who imo would be better suited in that position..

The way i see it, Lucas is either backup for Mascherano, or for Aquilani... and not good enough backup (given whats expected of them) in either case... If we can get the money and use it to bring in a player who is better suited to either role then im all for it... If not, then keep him... He's not a bad player, but also nowhere near as good as you and others try to make him out to be..

Im not getting into the other part of your post though... Just like you, that discussion bores the living sh!t out of me...

I guess you would be  really outdoing yourself if you provided yet another  as profound a statement as " I talk as much common sense .... (as wait for it )... Monkey's on bikes in the Moon" but I suppose we could talk football if you are so completely devoid of humour
No I don't think so either  ??? ...Listen we disagree on so many levels ..especially football so seriously would it be worth the grief   ??? ...I tell you what I will post in whatever thread I choose and we can agree to disagree
but please for the love of God never try wit .....its truly beyond you.... stick to tactics and formations  ??? and remember you shouted me out with your feeble attempt at sarcasm ......

On that showing looks like the Lad was man of the match by some distance loving the little floated passes

Lucas has not..is not..and will not ever been good enough for the Premier league. I never like to see a Liverpool player fail, but Lucas has failed and he should have been sold last summer

cant agree with this at all. Probably not good enough for Liverpool FC but I honestly think used correctly he could be a key player to a mid table team
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Thats b.*ll*c*ks.

Stick him at Sunderland or Bolton or something and I bet he would stand out as a good player.
