I wish i could feel the same mate - our squad IMO isnt good enough to get us back into the top 4 - we still lack a left back , a strong dominating cb and a back up for torres . People every year write off arsenal but they are there every year plus off course man utd and chelsea whihc leaves one spot and with citys signings they are going to be there as well .

I'm disappointed that Mascherano could go and it looks like his replacement is a far inferior player.

Im just worried it only seems to be the cheap 30 year old players we are looking at .

If Poulsen is signed their is no doubt it's a terrible signing considering he will pair with poor lucas..For God sake last season with a much better player (Mash) we couldn't hold the midfield and develope play, so now with over the hill mediocre player will do better? totally not reasonable.

We really need an Alonso type player we must have an anchor and a navigator in the middle. This Lucas-Poulson duo will not cut it one bit.

What about a Gerrard-Poulson pairing?  I suspect that's what Roy has in mind.

That might work...It still means our captain will have to face a grinding season and stay more closer to home then attacking...Will Stevie agree to this? not sure.

If Poulsen plays anywhere near to the level he played when he arrived at Sevilla (haven't seen much of him last season), then that would be a great midfield pairing.

am enjoying reading your posts mate.

I also have a good feeling and admittedly while i dont know much about Poulson looking at the way we lined up on thursday we could probably do with an actual sitter in that system.

Seems like it could make sense to me as well.

I voted will be average...

This signing means that we will be playing a DM and therefore to share the position with Lucas. Masch will probably be going now. But 6 million pounds is too much for that position, considering we need a striker and considering his age...

His age does raise a few concerns, 6 million pounds is too much for this player, I would not pay more than 3 mil.

If this is a Macherano replacement It's not a very good one on paper at least.

I will give him a chance of course but this signing doesn't exactly blow my pants off(We got Joe Cole for that!)
