The fact that we are not being hamstrung by Rafa  :D

So basically we are going to win the title or at least storm back into CL spot because Rafa is no longer our manager ? What happens when the above doesn't happen ?

S.hit mate you are becoming, sorry have become, one boring negative g.it !!! Give it a rest. Face facts Rafa was never going to win the title with his awful tactics so let's just give RH a chance before ripping into his record.

Im sorry but other people mentioned our  previous manager and i responded

I havent ripped into anything im saying that his previous record is not very impressive IMO and its an opinion im fully entitled without having to be subjected to the sort of post you have just done . If you dont like it then tough - i apologise for being realistic .

The trouble with your so-called realism is that you always look towards the negative and it is depressingly boring and at this stage completely unnecessary.

I think we will make the top four, and I base it on a very competent new manager breathing new life into what is a fairly good squad that has gotten a positive injection of a couple of quality players who will open up options.

Two seasons ago Roy Hodgson led Fulham to the same spot that we finished in last year.  I honestly believe that this coming edition of LFC is heads and tails above the squad that he led to 7th.  Therefore I deduce that the expectation of Roy, with the squad he has at his disposal, will help guide us back into the CL.

Last season our "greatest" accomplishment was making it to the semi final of the Europa League.  And by sheer dumb luck we are in the Europa League this coming season (Thank you Pompey).

Yes it's true that Fulham struggled in the Prem a bit last year and slipped to 12th (sliding the same amount of spots as we did from the previous season).  However beating Juventus in the Europa League semi-final with a small club like Fulham should not be overlooked.  I'd go as far to say that Roy had a better season with Fulham than we had last year.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

Amen.  The same discussion from the last 4 weeks recycled over and over, thread after thread, like a Rocky29-a-thon.  Roll on the season proper, so we can at least discuss current results rather than past records.  :sleep

Then ignore it if you dont like it - its nice and simple i have been positive on here plenty of times only to be told that im clueless now its the opposite and i dont believe im being negative im being realisitic by looking at everything - the state of our club , our squad , the financial situation , the state of other clubs and their playing squad and i have formed my judgement on that and i have formed my expectations on that and i await to see what happens and hope im surprised .

I can pretty much say with confidence that if things dont go well that the first people who turn on the manager are the people who are currently having a go at people who arent praising our new manager .

Its called being fickle -  people have massive high expectations just like i used to and have had over the last 30 odd years but during the last 20 years i have realised that i expectated too much and had too much disappointment so this time my expectations are lower based on everything i see - if results exceed my expectations then im going to be delighted - if they dont reach the high expectations others have set i can pretty much guess what will happen .

And i have no problem with that at all mate as its your right to form that opinion and just because it differs to mine it doesnt mean its wrong or right BUT i do hope you are right and im wrong but we wont know that until the season gets underway and we see the final result next may .

Off topic but Id watch the hell out of a Rocky 29, Im sure that by that point the only viable opponent for Balboa would be a great white shark.

Is that reference to the series of films, or is it reference to a member on here? ie isn't Rocky29 a member?
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Getting 4th (or higher) really is going to depend on the likes of Arsenal, City and Spurs having bad seasons too. There is a lot more competition now so  it's imperative we get off to a good start.

Possibly mate but i am not so sure, we were still in the hunt for the top 4 last season with about 3 games left and that was despite being woeful.
If we can improve our own results to the level this team is capable of then i think we will be back in the top 4.
These are the same players virtually that came 2nd 2 seasons ago, yes there have been changes but not drastic ones.
Spurs got 4th last season and were no great shakes.

I don't think city or spurs will finish in the top 4, the only reason tottenham are in the champs league(qualifiers) is because WE had our worst campaign in living memory, 19 defeats in total.
