Djibril cisse - ... want's to return to liverpool

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

No thanks.

If he spent more time on his game than his feckin hair, he might be a decent player.

Hated him when he was here before. No desire to see him, Heskey or Diouf back in a Liverpool shirt...ever.

Needs lots of chances before putting one away.
With Babel on standby Cisse is a luxury we can do without.

Good luck somewhere else Djibril :D

Although different types of players I'd rather Cisse personally he's more a goal threat.

he was one of our most frustrating players out of a long and illustrious list of frustrating players. he seemed mostly devoid of a footballing brain but he did score goals. at liverpool he scored 22 in 82 games, at marseille 37 in 78, at sunderland 11 in 38, and at panathanaikos 29 in 45. not exactly a torres rate of scoring but respectable enough for a striker.

i'd be unhappy if he was our leading striker but as a back up, an option or whatever for a few million it wouldn't be so bad.

and you have to love the guy, really :D

yeah, me too.

his record last season helps justify  that, even if it's only for Panathinaikos:

He scored 23 goals in 28 games, more than double than any other player in Greece, and also netted five goals in Europa League, three of them against Roma.

We need someone that is a good all round player.  Cisse just has pace and power.
His goal in the Super Cup sums him up.  Whacks the ball full force straight at the keeper then whacks the rebound in the net. :D

id prefer to get Crouch back.

 Mike chill mate, THIS football year hasn't started yet. This is why I can't get my head around some of the negativity. We haven't signed a player yet, we haven't played a match, we've sold Yossi Benayoun for a good fee and yet the end of the World is nigh ???

It now looks like our best players bar Masherano will be staying, the manager has said some positive things in press conferences, and although realism holds us back from dreaming too much, we start the season level with everyone else in all competitions and you never know.

The one good thing about the mood around here is that I can't imagine how bad this season will have to be in order for people to say it's worse than they expected.

I agree that Cisse remains a quality striker and judging by by his quotes in the papershe has some affinity for the club. His pace and power works in the Premier League, so if he was available for a reasonable price then i would welcome him here with open arms.

Them two up front with Deggen bombing forward from right back. Fecking hell they'd be running into each other every five minutes, blasting it up each others erse and falling over left right and centre. The season tickets for seats thirty yards each side of the goal would come with a free crash helmet for when they blasted it into the crowd at every opportunity.

Cisse - Do like the guy ... but no thanks.  Not really the answer , is he?  Why don't we go with Pacheco for a solid run. Give a young player with good skill a real chance to shine and gain confidence.  I don't mind spending a season or two building up a proper TEAM that plays with confidence and familiarity with each other.  Do what Wenger does at Arsenal.  Blood some excellent youngsters and let them establish themselves and build their confidence.  Roy could be the right manager for that kind of approach.  I know with Rafa, they'd never get the chance but really, what have we got to lose?  By NEXT season, we could have an exciting young team that people are talking about, instead of a bunch of highly paid players with a sense of entitlement to play every game no matter how they perform?  As a striker to bring on, I'd rather Crouch to Cisse.  Why we ever let him go, I'll never know.  He was a great option.
