World cup - Start signing right now!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby only me » Sat Jun 26, 2010 8:28 am

World Cup shows us how many talented players are out there ,most of the them playing for small clubs which we can easilly bring to Liverpool ,even with our current condition.

Scouting isn't rocket science let's start signing players.

Start with Chile - i would just buy all their players but the keeper and Gonzales  :p

I doubt Osil is the kinda of caliber player we can afford...He currently plays for Verder Bremen? ,need to find those which are still under the Radar by the big clubs.

That Alexis Sanchez lad for Chile is immense, potentialy one of the best players in the world imo.

Same with Ozil but I doubt we could afford either!

Maybe a more realistic person would be that Japanese striker... I forget his name? He seems class

I think Alexis Sanchez with the right club , he can become better than the RM ronaldo  ... and the Japanese Honda .. He also good ...  and not forget about Jozy Altidore from USA .. he much more better Emile Heskey ...

I'm all for scouting talent at the World Cup but let's not get carried away lads.  Diouf and Diou looked like world beaters in 02, Baros won the golden boot at Euro 04, Didier Zokora bossed the midfield for Cote d'Ivoire in Germany in 06 and looked an immense player and the list goes on and on...

As he proved so ably last season at Hull City  :O

This is exactly what I'm talking about.   :no

Altidore scored 1 goal for Hull in the entire season I think...

He seems like a bit of a Babel. Has the attributes to be a brilliant little player but fails to utilize them and is therefore pretty sh!te :D

Diego Lugano, who played for Sao Paulo against Liverpool in the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship. He'll be 30 in november and currently plays for Fenerbache.

He's enjoying his swansong, no thanks.

Well according to wikipedia only Barcelona have more players at the World Cup (13) with Chelsea and Liverpool second on 12 -

ARG Mascherano
ARG Rodriguez
DEN Agger
ENG Johnson
ENG Carragher
ENG Gerrard
GRE Kyrgiakos
HOL Kuyt
HOL Babel
SLV Skrtel
SPA Torres
SPA Reina

I wonder how many of those will still be at Anfield next season. Interesting that all the German squad play in Germany, English in England and the Italians likewise all play in Italy. The only members of the Spanish squad not playing in Spain are Fabregas (Arsenal), Torres and Reina (Liverpool), none of the Nigerian squad play in Nigeria

Window shopping during the World Cup isn't necessarily the best idea as the prices will inevitably go up when the whole world has seen the players play. And we saw how it worked out when Houllier bought players from countries like Senegal (Diouf and Diao)
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

I think there has been a lot of South Americans who have impressed greatly in the World Cup and are likely to have put themselves in the shop window. I would look at some from the likes of Mexico and Chile for possibly cheaper talent.
