Danny murphy - Mistake?

Just wanted opinions on what people now think about Danny's departure from the club. Its dissapointing when you see Igor coming off the bench against Spurs in a game that we still could have won when someone like Danny could have been coming on to possibly create something or pop up with one of his important goals. Was Rafa to hasty in breaking up this so called clique instead of waiting to see if Danny could possibly proove a point to him? I for one was sorry to see him go and even more so when Igor is coming off the bench. This is not a dig at Igor but its plain and simple that Danny offers more than him. Opinions?

I don't know really, I think that Murphy needed a fresh start, he wasn't looking all that good in the pre-season and Rafa said he wasn't in his plans.

Apart from splitting teams with good passes and creating goals. ???

Yes it was a dissapointment, to early to say if its a mistake.

Benitez will fix the mistake quickly though. He's not an idiot, he wouldn't have sold Murphy knowing Smicer was out if he didn't have 2 players at least lined up.

Lets face it, the club comes first, the manager second, then the players as a group.

i think we shud have kept him...rufu knew from the start diouf was not going to feature in his plan and the number of quality mdield has always been a problem in own team so why sell 1 more midfield if no certain signing has been made?

I can understand that Benitez will bring in players soon but i think he should have kept Danny until that time. Its just dissapointing to see Danny leave before the likes of Biscan and Diao.

i personally was disapointed to see him go, especially with certain players still being at the club :(  i dont think he was one of the players Rafa really wanted to lose but i think the club realised he was one of the few players we could make some money from for new signings

Mistake my backside, wish we would have got rid a lot sooner and found a replacement. But Rafa is doing all the right things and is bringing quality into the club.
