Suarez won't star. Nevertheless, I still expect us to win comfortably, probably 2-0 or something like that.

Am buzzing though. Can't wait.

I don't get you people.. Why do so many people have Meireles in their predicted lineup? You say we won't play Suarez, but we will play Meireles? He hasn't bee playing for weeks with an injury, and he will magically be ready?

I expect Suarez to play, I'm not sure why anybody says he can't because if it was up to him he wouldn't hesitate to say yes.

Meireles WILL NOT START, it will be Lucas and probably Adam, tho it could be Spearing.

Suarez hasn't started training with us yet ffs. Maybe Meireles won't play but Suarez will definitely not start.

Doesn't matter anyway, If not Meireles then Adam.

Suarez definitly wont start, but he might play some part... especially if we're losing.

My whole point is Meireles is injured so there's no way he'll start. I think Suarez could start because he's really just had a quick break after playing non-stop for a very long time. I don't think he will start, but all I'm saying is if it were his choice he'd start.

I've thought about it and I think Kenny will use the fact that he won't start to let Hendo get his run out against his old club.

Push Kuyt up and stick Hendo on the right. Probably sub off Hendo near the 60th-70th minute, push Kuyt back and play Suarez up top.

First game of the season we usually scrap it out, if we win it'll be a late one I reckon. DUnno about Suarez, I don't see why he won't be match fit after a couple of weeks off, I think he's an enthusiatic lad who will want to be on the pitch from the first minute

Given the style of play in preseason when Carroll is played, and especially the game against Valencia, I think we'll once again focus on exploiting the flanks for this one with little regard to possession or getting the central players carrying the ball to the oppositions final third... If we do play that style, I'd much rather see a side like this lineup for this one rather than the one we saw against Valencia..

If we do decide to play a possession game and rely less heavily on Carroll's aerial strength then we'd be better off playing this side

Actually, he started training today

. I still think he won't start, but there's a big chance that he might be on the bench.

Anyway, Johnson's out for this one

. Good thing we have a solid back-up for him.
