No worries mate. If it ever looks like the final league positions may not be decided on 1, points, 2, goal difference, 3, goals scored I'm sure the powers that be will go with your alphabetical perspective, in which case we quickly change our club name to something like "Aardvark Anfield AFC"

:D

Out of interest does anybody know how the final league positions would be decided if in the unlikely event the two top clubs ended up with the same points, same goal difference and same goals scored ?

Maybe a one off deciding game ? (how Fu*king massive would that be  :wwww    :D )

One off game is right. That was mooted last season between Chelsea and Arsenal for 3rd and 4th. Fortunately it didn't materialise and the prize for winning would be a bye into the group stage
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

according to the Premier Leagues FAQ page...

If two or more teams are equal on points, the winner is then determined by goal difference and then, if necessary, by the number of goals scored.
Where teams are equal on points, the number of goals scored and goal difference, there will be a play-off to determine the winner.
We do not look at the head-to-head record of individual teams.

I thought I had been told they went straight to a penalty shoot out.

Final game sounds much more fun tho.. How crazy would that be? Just the rarity and excitement of the occasion would probably draw almost as many fans as the CL final.

as I confirmed above, there will be a play off. exciting but probably highly unlikely since we're gonna have this league wrapped up by xmas. just like the good old days.
