LIVERPOOL v sparta prague Thur 14th Mar 8.00pm

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby ycsatbjywtbiastkamb » Wed Mar 13, 2024 4:32 pm

Given we are at home and defending a 5 - 1 scoreline from the first leg Jurgen should be able to give one or two of our big hitters a rest which would be nice with a big FA Cup quarter final at Old Trafford looming up on the immediate horizon.
Play the kids but have the big guns on the bench incase Sparta go 2 - 0 up or something.

Elliott too, Harvey is a grafter anyway but the effort he has put in since the playing every minute of the League Cup final at Wembley has been nothing short of Herculean. The games have come thick and fast and we’ve been short on numbers but he’s stepped up to the plate and into the breach unbelievably well

Far be it for me to question Jurgen’s judgment but I don’t get the idea of playing Nunez, Endo and Bradley in a nothing game, I can see why he’s picked Mo and Dom, they need minutes to get up to speed in terms of match sharpness and rhythm but one injury to Darwin could sink our season. For it to happen in essentially a dead rubber would be a sickener

Could be just keeping players happy. Some players want to play every game and aren’t happy when they are don’t. With Darwin he seems to have hit a good groove and probably wants to keep it. I want a hot Darwin!

Preseason friendly tactics may be. All change at half time. Got to say I am very surprised by the selection.??

Yeah, no need to risk half of the players in that team. I remember Jota getting injured in a nothing game once.

Not a huge fan of trashing small teams but I guess we can use the target practise.

Tie is well and truly dead and buried.

I'd be tempted to haul Mo, Nunez and Szob off now.
