FLC : Aston Villa VS LIVERPOOL : Tues 17 Dec 2019 : KO 19:45

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Football League Cup - Quarter Final

This should be a win, however, the div brains at FIFA decided their competition was far more important so we were left with a split team so we could play in both.
I can't call this one, I'll just watch and hope.

In the premiership game at their place our first team only just squeaked a win with an 87th minute equaliser from Robbo and a 94th minute header from Sadio.

Think our "second eleven" will put up a fight but I'll be surprised if we win this one.

With Aston Villa in a relegation dogfight I think they will rotate like they did in the last round. If we had our strongest U23 side available I think we would give them a decent game but Curtis Jones and Neco Williams are in Qatar with the first team due to injuries, Adam Lewis is injured, and Rhian Brewster and Larouci are serious doubts. I hope whoever is left can put up a good fight, but I can’t see past a fairly comfortable Villa win.

Yeah, it's a shame that the strongest players of our u23 side are unavailable for this one. If we had the full team, things might have been different, but as it is, I can't see us winning this one. I just hope we don't get battered by f*cking Villa.

It will be a good test and experience for our talented youngsters - it would be nice to continue to compete in the comp but it’s the lowest priority this season

Our young lads are basically being thrown to the lions in front of the nation. If Villa play their premier league team (Grealish, Mings etc) our lads will do well to keep the scoreline respectable. Anything under 5-0 would be a tremendous effort.
Make no mistake about it our U23's would have their hands full playing against a league 2 side, Villa are a premier league team who gave the likes of Virgil, Sadio, Mo, Bobby, Fab etc a tough game.

Can’t believe this useless shower of ***** are winning 2-0. The kids didn’t deserve that. They were doing really well.

Had a couple of chances we should have put away. Note they're beginning to look like startled deer...

They should call a halt to this. These kids will be traumatised after this first half. Only Hoever looks like he could make the grade...

Seriously ?

It’s a youth team playing against a Prem Team - there was always going to be a gap between the teams and it’s being purely used to give the kids some experience

The scoreline doesn’t reflect the game at all

Well I feel sorry for the kids, they don't deserve to get batered but that's what is going to happen here. They started off well enough but they missed a few chances and were unlucky with one or two goals. Villa actually have more goals than shtos on target so I think the kids have been really unlucky tonight.

The scoreline flatters Villa a bit but as the half wore on our lads clearly started to struggle. I just hope the scoreline doesn't become embaressing, they don't deserve that.
