Seriously ?

It’s a youth team playing against a Prem Team - there was always going to be a gap between the teams and it’s being purely used to give the kids some experience

The scoreline doesn’t reflect the game at all

I honestly think we've been the better team. There is a massive gap in terms of composure and that's expected when most of these kids have never played in the Prem..

I'm not liking Villa rubbing it in everytime they score. The main team will make them suffer for that when we play them again in the league.

It says a lot when their Keeper has been prob their Motm

Young lads have done really well out there

Harvey Elliot was excellent despite being only 16 !.  Bright futures ahead for a few of them.

Only embarrassing stuff out there was some of the celebrations

Your posts have always shown you to be a bit of a kunt but you don't have to be one all of the time !

It was men against boys tonight. what the f*ck were you expecting ?

The young lads put in a shift and will learn from it.

Do me a favour and just finally f*ck off and haunt some other LFC "supporters" site !   :kungfu:

I actually thought the kids did great despite what the resident tosspot says. Personally I’d have put some older heads into the squad, but I won’t be losing any sleep over the result. I’ve always seen this competition as nothing more than glorified training sessions for the youth team.

Well, well... You having a tantrum too, eh?
I'm not criticising a bunch of 16 year old kids for losing against experienced grown adults, my friend.
What I'm not impressed with is seeing them pass backwards the whole time, maybe being too respectful and fearful of a pi$$ poor opposition, and maybe not having the confidence or the 'balls' to show why they're at the club in the first place. These aren't kids kicking a ball for the first time, they're professionals too. Much like Owen or Fowler were when they set the world on fire. Or the kids we now see the Filth are churning out.
I'm more disappointed that I don't see very many out there tonight making the grade, save for the likes of Elliott, However, maybe one or two more.
That's what I find "pi$$ poor", not these boys personally.
So calm down a tad...

To be fair to Bunglemark football is a ruthless business, the average age of that team tonight was nearly 20 and by that age Ste MaManaman had played something like 60 games for the club and had won a MoM award in an FA Cup final. The likes of Gerrard, Fowler, Owen, Sterling etc were all first team regulars by that age too.
To me there' were only 2 lads out there tonight who have a chance of becoming first team regulars, Elliot has got a real chance, as long as he doesn't do a Woodburn and stop progressing he has a great chance of making it, Hoever has got a reasonable chance too. I'm not saying the others won't make a living out of the game but to be a regular for a club of our stature you have to be exceptional.

That's the crux of my point. Not an open criticism of a bunch of teenagers. I would have loved to see three, four of them do something sublime, something we saw from Owen, Fowler or others at that age.
Look, maybe I'm being too harsh, but we hear the culture of the first team allegedly cascades down to the younger teams. I watched the whole game live tonight and was waiting to see that.

its unfortunate that we had to field such a young side to begin with. Never thought we would win but didn't think we would lose by that either.  Score aside they did alright and had a good amount of possession throughout but just lacked that bit of experience to lean on at times.
