RIGHT.

HOW THE F*CK CAN THE MAN COMING BACK TO SIT IN THE CROWD STIR THINGS UP???

WHO ON EARTH WOULD HAVE WALKED AWAY FROM THAT MASSIVE CONTRACT HE HAD HERE WITH NOTHING - ESPECIALLY WHEN HE COULD HAVE WALKED AWAY WITH THREE TIMES MORE???

Seriously, some of you have a cheek to accuse others of dragging up Benitez constantly when you are clearly revelling, REVELLING in the mans current failure. Objectivity and relevance are out the window here, you just cant wait to stick the knife into the guy for no other reason that to serve notice to the "pros" that you were right and they were wrong.

The club is in a great run atm the moment and things are finally looking up, why, DEAR GOD WHY do you think this cr*p is necessary???

you being serious ?

Why would he turn up at our game when he hasnt sorted his own situation out ?
When he knows that the fans are not behind the current manager and some want him back ?

A) to feed his massive ego.

You may disagree and your points are well balanced so not pro rafa or anything so fair enough, but i disagree.
I honestly think its his ego, just my opinion  :)
I dont care what run we are on, people still pine for Rafa (not you btw)

How?, well, Rafa has connections in Liverpool so will no doubt know he still has his disciples in attendance and that Roy is not welcome here under any circumstance. So of course by sitting in the crowd, he will stir things up, the disciples will cry "THE MESSIAH HATH COMETH !" and create petty chants in support of our former manager rather than our current one.

Also they both had a little spat in the press, Roy being the bad guy, Rafa being the genius talking about milk and sugar.

So, your question being, how will he stir things up?

There is the answer.

your a good post.

my post isnt intent on sounding condescending.
But, you think that Rafa attending a match now is ok and in now way distractful and damaging ?
You think that it wouldnt be anything to do with him ?

to be fair, i think the worst of the RAFA VS ROY storm has passed, but merits and cons of him turning up at a game are worth discussing.

The spat is over, and Hodgson apologised so there should be no problems. No offence to any guys on here but why I have no problems with Benitez coming to the ground on his free time, and I would hope that he would get a simple Rafa Benitez chant at the start of the game in recognition of his attendence but come the first whistle I think then i believe the Kop would be focused on the present - If you were to go to a home game and chant for Rafa for 90mins over the current boss well personally I think that thats disrespectful and you should realize the time to move on has long past.

Maybe he actually wants to watch us as a fan and sample the atmopshere again as opposed to stroking his ego ?

There's a bit of everyone in there, I think, so I'll answer as well. Personally, I don't mind when he comes back, so long as it's relatively low-key. Furthermore, I don't mind that he accepted some level of compensation when he left, because that's par for the course, and the amount was inconsequential in the grand scheme of things.

To your second part, I don't "revel" in his failings, and I doubt many do, but his time at Inter has some relevance to this particular topic and that's why it's been raised.

I also think it would be ok for him to come back and watch a Liverpool game in Christmas hols, in the end its his choice and whether people like it or not it doesn't matter.

However, all of us need to realize he is part of our history, and he is gone, singing or chanting Rafa's name in games will not help the team and will cause more harm than none. The sooner we accept the fact that he is gone the better.

We must move on, we have Roy now, we must stick to our team and support the current manager (despite his flaws and management ability). Lets move on people, Rafalution is over

Rafa is welcome anytime as a fan. Just not as a manager.

Lets leave it at that.
