Who do you want to see in january? - Realistic suggestions

IMO getting rid of the Doss, the Voronator and the Babelonian is a step in the right direction, feck it, it's 3 leaps in the right direction. Who we bring in is another matter altogether...  :D

Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh’s representatives held talks with Liverpool yesterday over signing a pre-contract agreement.
The Morocco ace is available on a free transfer at the end of the season and Rafa Benitez is ready to act quickly to tie up the deal.
Atletico Madrid’s Maxi Rodriguez is expected to agree terms with Liverpool over the next 24 hours.

Olympiakos have been rebuffed over an inquiry for Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun but will return with an offer for his team-mate Albert Riera.
The Greek side have offered around £5million and wages of £40,000 a week tax free for Israeli Benayoun but Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez will not sell. He may be swayed on Riera, who has failed to capitalise on a good first season at Anfield.

My personal opinion on Riera is simply" Can play Wont play " for what ever reason I am at a loss to explain ,but the signs have been prevalent all season, his form has been sporadic to stay the least ....

I like Riera. I think he had a good steady first season and did give us a bit more balance and width.

Hopefully Rodriguez on the right and Riera on the left till the end of the seeason would be good. Kuyt and Benayoun as backups/competition (who can play other positions).

Then in the summer we can then look at it again. If we were to get a better left winger then I would still keep Riera as the backup/competition.

We NEED another striker though!

Is this Chamakh any good? His scoring record is a bit dodgy but he's been linked with most English clubs over the summer and the media are linking him around again this January. I have to admit I've never watched this guy play so I have no idea what he's like
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

He's a good player with bags of ability ,one that might get even better when introduced to  Premier League

chamakh is linked with too many clubs and i doubt we are his no1 destination:(
rodriguez might be worth a punt but is past his best.
the best piece of buisness in this window imo has to be beckford to newcastle for 2.5mil.
i would love to see rafa hijack that bid and bring him here:;): .
even if we pay 4mil it wouldnt be the end of the world and he would absolutely love to be an understudy to torres.
we have spent big money in the past on foreign imports and they turned out to be nothing more than a gamble so why not take one on beckford???.
he would definately be good for us!!

I must admit I do not know a great deal about him and have only just seen his goal scoring record of:-

50 goals in 204 (club), 15 in 52 (country)

I did the usual of looking on Youtube and he looked fairly handy, but so did a clip of Voronin.

My opinion was slightly based upon Arsenal's supposed interest and the video clips but his goal record isn't very impressive. I would maybe take him on a free but paying a fee for him, not sure now!

I know from playing Fifa and Pes that Chamakh is high quality. Ok they're games but he is one of the better players on them. He has a great partnership with Cavenaghi and Bordeaux are a powerhouse team in France now. We'd be laughing all the way to the bank to get him on the Free.

The way i see it: Pandev - Toni - Chamakh : can all be bought on the free so why not get 2 of those 3? Babel is worth 10mil easy so we could sell him to pay for their wages and sell Dossena to pay for Maxi's wages.

Well I'll tell you a little secret, in FIFA10, Babel is awesome...  :D ... so much for trusting those games.

im pretty sure Pandev has returned to Inter, while Toni is gone to another Italian club.

Maxi Rodriguez looks like a good player, wont break the bank to sign him either.
I havnt heard about Chamakh going to Anfield, but he would definetely be a good signing, his style is perfect for the Premiership and we need a player like him to come in.
On another note, how about a surprise move for Stoke midfielder Rory Delap? Those long-throws can cause trouble for any team, imagine in European competitions :grinning:
