some home truths is that with out sami and jar we looked dodgy at the back

SG was trying to be a one show because he had to for the first time in ages

kewell and garcia were a big let down last night,

cissie is not good enoghtt nor is nando

if crouch has any worse luck in front of goal he should go and get an exersisum done

if you don't give fowler chance he can't make his own

people on here should realise that we are still in the champions league spot for next year and in with a big shout of the fa cup, so let's not throw ourselve of a building just yet.

Rafa know the weaknesses and will sort them out if parry and the board pull there finger out in the summer

traore is a plant from man u and should be sold to the bitters asap

Robbie Fowler should have played from the start until he burnt himself out, and the be subbed by one of the ball holders. By then he could have bagged a brace.

Gutted for Robbie, that he has now scored 3 goals which have all been ruled out and all in critical games.:

At the end of the day we all feel like we've had a hefty whack in the bollox but we need to learn from it.

Jus coz we lost last nite doesn't mean we are never allowed back in the competition.  We have to build on wot we have learnt from last nite (and a few other dodgy performances this season), and go all out to win it next year.

Cud b worse...cud b a bluenose. Their booze trips to Calais last longer than their other European excursion this season.:p

I am utterly gutted by the result because we lost 0-2 at Anfield.

Benfica, no disrespect to them, are a poor team, but we were so much poorer because of our inability to tuck away the chances which we created ourselves. We are a far better team this season thsan in the last season but inexpicably, there is simply no logical explanation why while the overall team strength has improved, the striker department has become so dire.

I am in no way plastic fan, in fact I am really disappointed. If we had been knocked out by 2-2 on agg on the away goals rule, that would be more acceptable because that meant that we had scored 2-1 on the night.

Well.

I don't like to judge LFC players too harshly, but there comes a time when you have to be honest.

Reina: A fantastic 'keeper. The best in Britain. Do not replace.

Finnan: Best right-back in Britain.

JC: Irreplacable.

Sami Sami: Still the best aerial dominator in the world. Getting on now - needs to pass his knowledge on to Agger.

Riise: Has proved many (including myself) wrong this season. Is developing into a damn fine left-back.

Garcia: Has lost his magic. Fitness? Drive? Who knows? Sort it Luis.   :no

Xabi: Isn't playing at last seasons level, but is still in the top two midfielders in England, along with;

Stevie G: Magnificent, if a little tired of late. (Innevitably.)

Kewell: Enigmatic. Fabulous one minute, nowhere to be found the next. Wednesday excluded, he has been one of our better performers of late.

Crouch: Has the finishing ability of a freshly squeezed lemon. Does link-up play, but heading ability is pathetic for someone as tall. Replace in starting line-up with;

Fowler: Has scored 3 of his 5 chances. Two were legitimate, and TBF he is our only clinical striker. Should play 90 minutes as often as possible. More finishing ability left in his wife after getting busy than the other strikers put together.

Cisse: A better option than the walking turd that is;

Mori-f*cking-entes: Time for Fernando to ferf*ck off. A waste of shirt. A waste of money, a waste of time, and a waste of the good grass he f*cking tramples.
The biggest pile of sh*te since London Zoo announced there had been mass diarrhea in the elephant enclosure.
:no  :no  :no

Changes I would make:

Basically, the only changes required come in the last third. Or, to be more precise - the ENTIRE final third needs changing.

I'd remove from the starting line-up the following:

Crouch, (Better as a sub)
Garcia, (Seems to be struggling, and is a good sub)
Morientes. (Is b*llocks.)

In their place comes;
Fowler (Obviously)
Cisse (Pace and a higher goal threat than the other two)
Anderson. (Appeared on the bench, so MUST be ready for some first-team action.)

Try it - we have nothing to lose.
